Success stories at crgh

As the title suggests really. Would be keen to hear success stories from those who have been to CRGH. We are getting things ready to go there. Had a freebie on the NHS at a different clinic which resulted in our son but also future transfers/EC have failed for a sibling.

Hi, just wondering if anyone would like to share their experience?

@Sofie19 hi sorry you didn't get any responses here. I remember talking to you briefly on your other thread about different IVF meds.

I'm on my third round of IVF but this is the first round with CRGH. I just had a freeze all cycle and am now preparing for a frozen transfer.

Honestly so far I have been really, really happy with them.

It's very different from my first clinic as my first clinic (Bourn Hall) were very friendly, small, the nurses all knew your name etc. whereas CRGH can feel a bit like a conveyor belt at times. They have the HCA do your bloods then the sonographer do your scans then go through to the nurses regarding the meds. It's very processy and feels less personal when you are at the clinic.

However with my first two rounds at Bourn we got 0 blasts and with CRGH we have 2 frozen☺️ CRGH are so much more thorough. They check your bloods at every scan, check for cysts or any thing that may impact your success, look at your medical history and anything that may impact chances. Basically they are just very in-depth in my experience. So I am very happy so far.

All the best for your cycle! x

@lemons44 thank you for getting back to me. I did wonder how you are getting on. I'm so pleased you had improvements at CRGH. When do you think your FET will be?

Currently stimming and have been up for scans a few times. Completely agree with everything you say. My last clinic were super friendly and it felt like they knew me (they probably did...I'd been there years) whereas obviously at CRGH there are a lot of patients in and out. They do seem thorough so also happy so far!

@Sofie19 @lemons44 how did things go?
I'm considering switching from Lister to CRGH.

Hey @strtng no success for me yet. Our first frozen embryo was BFN and second resulted in a chemical. We are hoping to do another egg collection in Sept and will explore PGTA this time as our consultant thinks we may have higher levels of genetically abnormal embryos for my age.

Having said that I am personally still happy with CRGH. There's a lot of things I like about them. I had incredibly difficult embryo transfers at my last clinic whereas CRGH have breezed through both my transfers with no issues. They have been very on the ball with checking my progesterone levels which I also like.

The only thing that puts me off CRGH is I think the PGTA testing is a set fee for up to 8 embryos, you can't pay for just a couple.

Another thing to note is CRGH go HARD on the medications. I've been quite surprised at how many medications I've been on compared to other ladies at different clinics. They like progesterone to be over 100 on transfer day and to get me there they put me on 4 different types of progesterone 😱

How has your journey been so far?

Fingers crossed for September for you!! Can I ask which consultant you're with or any consultants you'd recommend?

I'm at Lister fertility at the Portland, which I suppose has a decent reputation. So far my experience hasnt been great, although very short - I've only done one cycle of IVF. I've had a disastrous first cycle, I'm 29, AMH 13, diet super healthy, husband's diet super healthy, we don't drink, no red meat, both take a load of supplements as recommended by "it starts with the egg".

Of 13 eggs collected, 8 mature, 8 fertilised, 1x day 5 embryo and 2x day 6 embryos but none were euploid.

Plus they're difficult to get hold of. To get a doctor to call you back you need to call the nurses line. Then nurses pass on your request to be called back but the doctor might not (maybe forgot, maybe didn't bother, who knows). And the nurses themselves seem very hit and miss. A few instances stand out:
At our coordination appointment a nurse confidently said "there's a 50:50 chance with IVF", to which my husband reasonably asked "of what?" (BFP? Live birth? Boy or girl? Healthy or abnormal?). She said she wasn't sure. So just a 50/50 chance of something. Perhaps of it raining tomorrow. A bit useless.
Then being told by one nurse that I should take an extra progesterone pessary and by another not to... so which is it?! And doc wouldn't call back as that's a nurse question
