Any information of FET Frozen Embryo Transfer

Hello All.

I just want to know anything and everything about peoples experience with FET after a failed fresh transfer.

How they prepared for FET? Whether thats diet/supplements/exercise/sleep etc

What they did in the TWW?

How long did it take from fresh transfer to FET?

Sorry to hear your fresh transfer failed 😢

I hope we can get some more information and advise. In the mean time if you find a thread that covers all this please let me know.

Oooo have you had a consultation etc and then been given a April date? I'm back on waiting list for appointment with consultant I really hope it doesn't take long. If I don't hear anything in 2 weeks I'm contacting them myself

There are monthly FET threads which may be a good place to join and ask.

@Sherr33 Sorry about your failed fresh transfer. The preparation for a FET is not different to preparation for a fresh transfer.

How soon you can proceed to FET depends on individual cases, some people may need time to recover from ovarian stimulation, some may not.

This is the guidance my clinic follows, it's always better to check with your doctor because only they know your situation.

Sorry about your failed fet, I had a failed fresh with top grade blastocyst and then a successful fet with same grade. Difference for me was I took high dose vit d and had progesterone injections not just pessaries. Even though levels were 35 so above clinic threshold I pushed for lubion because I bled while on pessaries for the failed fresh so wasn't convinced was high enough.

Ladies. Just some advice here which I wish I knew before ….
I had 2 high grade embryos and 1 6 day fully hatched embryo. I transferred the first one as a fresh and it failed. 2nd one frozen failed too and I just did my final transfer (currently in 2ww).
what I did not know … was my body was not ready for the transfers. My clinic offered me testing of my endomeTRIO (ERA & Alice). The results off this told me I had BV plus issues with autoimmune and my blood is quite thick. It also told me that I need to have a specifically timed transfer. I wasted two of my best embryos transferring them with not knowing this information which is beyond gutting. Why did the clinic not offer these tests to me at the beginning? Yes. I asked that! They told me it wasn’t policy to test and only do so after two failed embryo transfers that are of good quality. How awful is that?? How can a fertility clinic operate in this way?? Surely their aim is to get me pregnant right? You’d think so! It then took me 8 months to get rid of BV and then start Lubion injections plus Cyclogest at a much higher dose. All of which I should have been doing on my first two transfers….
make a note to ask your clinic to test you! Just pay the extra as it’s not worth losing good embryos for simple checks you’d think your clinic would do. I am at care fertility in Baker Street. London… in case anyone wants to know.
also- ask about embryo glue! That’s another thing that wasn’t offered to me on the first two!

@Helsy55 Hi. Just read your comment above. I am on 3 failed FET so far. My clinic has mentioned the above, but they may be because I am under NHS still. How does the ERA one work?

I had a hysteroscopy with uterus biopsy, not sure if this is what was checked. I have had so many tests now, I don't know what is what.

Helsy55 · 12/08/2024 17:21

Hey there, ok so I think you will need to enquire privately for the tests. They are worth it, I am currently 9weeks pregnant from my third embryo transfer. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it was going to work but it did… and I truly believe it was down to knowing the facts about my body and what it needed ahead of transferring through these tests. I’m unsure of the costs but it is worth it if you’ve had continued failed transfers. Good luck!

Helsy55 · 12/08/2024 17:22

And don’t forget the embryo glue!!

AnonS · 14/08/2024 14:45

@Helsy55 Apparently embryo glue is standard in my clinic - I don't trust that though. Had my day 12 scan today and lining only 6.5mm but we have all agreed to just go ahead with transfer, just waiting to surge naturally.

If this fails, I will def look into the test you have mentioned and get them done privately before my next NHS attempt.
