London recommendations for IVF ICSI

Hello,
I'm looking for London based clinic recommendations for male factor IVF ICSI. We have PCOS and male factor - low motility and morphology. I'm 35.
Planning to sign up to some open evenings as well to get an idea. I find the success rates very confusing

I'd be keen to hear from anyone with specific experiences of the following clinics:

  • Kings fertility - seem well rated, with a good embryology team and experience in male factor (they also have andrologist option available). Well priced for 3 cycle packages. But seems as though care is not very personalised and may not see consultant each time
  • CRGH - have expertise in male factor and also some advanced techniques although I don't think there is evidence for things like IMSI etc yet. Long-standing reputation and good success rates
  • IVI - don't know much but have been recommended by a friend who had her treatment and knew others who went there
  • Evewell looks very personalised and tailored but can't see much interest in male factor stuff. They are also a lot more expensive based on the website.

Does anyone have any personal experiences of the above?
Or have recommendation for London clinics that deal with Male factor and probable frozen transfers? I think will need because of PCOS and high AFC

Thanks

We've been with Kings and have found them excellent. Although my consultant hasn't done all the scans etc he's done all my egg collections and transfers, and I've never felt my treatment hasn't been personalised. Any decisions are run by him and he's always contactable. I'd be surprised if any clinic manages to ensure you see the same person for every single appt once you've started a fresh cycle, it would be a logistical nightmare given the unpredictability of scans etc. As a caveat, we don't have a male factor issue so can't comment on that, but I would recommend them as a clinic. They are also the most reasonably priced and plough a lot of money into fertility research. I've never had a reason to not trust their judgement, everything is well explained and they don't push unnecessary add ons or poorly evidenced approaches like some places do. We were successful having our daughter with them and are having ongoing treatment to try and conceive a second.

@SErunner

Thanks so much for the insight on Kings!
Probably me being naive expecting that will be same person every time but guess the main hung is consultant oversight.

Do you have a particular consultant there that you recommend?
And do you know if they do any open days/ evenings? (I couldn't see any option on website)

With the male factor, it's more if they have an Andrology service which they do on their price list and website.
They do seem very reasonably priced (especially for the 3-cycle packages) listed compared to others like CRGH or evewell.

Great that you are happy and returning to them.

I've been referred to Kingston ACU for NHS round. They only do the egg collection and then the embryology and transfers are all done at Kings. So hopefully I can get through the NHS round first and then have private options lined up if any delays or unsuccessful.

Ps: I've been reading Winstons essential fertility guide which you recommended. It is very good although abit bleak - but good to have some actual facts.

We're with Dr Tsironis and he has been excellent. I don't know about open days. We started with them during the pandemic so those sort of things weren't an option!

RW is very pragmatic and realistic, I know what you mean re it feeling a bit bleak, but I think it is just in contrast to so many sources that are overly optimistic/inaccurate regarding approaches/investigations. I've found it really helpful as we've gone along to keep me focused on what is likely to improve our chances - I think it has saved us a lot of wasted money!

Saw this thread a bit late but we used the Evewell for our second round of IVF which included significant male factor issues from DH's side and a FET. We would highly recommend them, we found that they were much better than our previous clinic at taking account of male factor issues, including DH's urologist's recommendations, and we were impressed by the embryology team. Don't know how they would compare to the other clinics you mention though. Smile
