Hello

Sorry I posted this under Pregnancy as well.

I had a FET with a 5day blastocyst. I am 7W+2 today.

My acupuncturist advised me to speak to my clinic to start Heparin and Aspirin which I started 11 days ago (I had 2 natural pregnancies that ended in a miscarriage and 1 FET previously did not show an embryo on the 7 week scan) that was around 5W5D. Not been investigated why I had recurrent miscarriages but felt since this is my last embryo to start Heparin in case clotting is the issue)

I do the enoxaparin injections in the evenings, this morning I saw a big bruise on the site of last night's injection it still feel a bit slightly stingy and tender if I touch it.

I tend to have small dot like bruise where the needle goes in usually but not like this one, this one is a big bruise around the area. Is it because I have been doing it for 11 nights now? (I alternate sides each night) Is this normal? Is it dangerous? if not is there is any tips you can give me please so it won't bruise.

Is it still okay to use that site?

Thank you for anyone's advise or input xxx

Clexane usually gives bruises, it is normal to have bruises with it. I usually put an ice pack before and after the injection, it does help but not all the time. I still get bruises from time to time.

You are not supposed to put an injection on a place where you have a bruise, you have to wait until the bruise is gone. I think it's at least 2 cm away from a bruise where you can inject.

If you've had 3 MC, you should see a Reproductive Immunologist, they can give you more answers than an IVF specialist.

@Olivie12 Thank you so much sorry is Clexane the same as Enoxaparin? I am pretty much left on my own, no idea what I am doing. I didn't have any investigations and went straight to my embryo transfer. How do I get referred to a Reproductive Immunologist? No one has mentioned this to me :( Do I get investigated now while pregnant? Thank you so much for your reply to my post.

Clexane is the same as Enoxaparin, it's the brand. Hopefully all this works for you.

Reproductive immunology is like a new science that looks into recurrent miscarriages or repeated implantation failure (IVF). I've had thousands of tests by my IVF specialist and no issue was ever found after 3 MC's.

Then someone recommended me to an Immunologist, there's a FB group called "Reproductive Immunology Support", it's really good. You could join. There are instances where your immune system attacks the baby and causes MC's, or your immune system is too strong, blood clotting disorders, antibodies, etc. their tests are very specific. Some take pregnant women but not sure who, you could check on that FB group.

Good luck!
