ARGC Experience

Wondering if anyone can share their experience with ARGC? We are planning to start a cycle there Jan. So far I’ve had a mixed experience, particularly with one of the doctors, so interested to hear others experiences. Thanks!

I hope you don’t mind me tagging on to your post. I have a consultant appointment next week with them, so would love to hear experiences as it ain’t cheeaapppp! X

I might be too late as you may have started treatment now. The experience whilst going through it was questionable. It feels disorganised and the care from the nurses is inconsistent- some are fabulous and others not so much. They don’t like to explain stuff and it can feel a bit rushed. BUT, that said, I had two failed cycles with the NHS and came here. They pushed for immune testing, hysteroscopy etc. we decided that as we are already going to the most expensive clinic we may as well throw everything at it. We did throw everything at it and now have a baby girl.
i was on A LOT of medication I think at one time I counted 12 things. Steroids, intralipids, metformin, blood thinners, so much progesterone. Our prescriptions were a fortune. But it worked. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
for reference I a was 33 and have PCOS and male factor infertility.

@Impatientlywaiting10 @XLouIsStillTrying hi both, hope you don't mind me asking - what have been your experiences with ARCG so far? I have been looking at them, and wondering if it really is worth the extra costs. For us the decision is between one attempt with ARCG or a three-cycle package at another clinic as they come up roughly the same price.

XLouIsStillTrying · 30/01/2024 06:57

@AnnieStar12 i decided to go with Care London in the end and start in a couple of weeks.

ARGC consultation was brilliant, a female dr who sounded like she was completely on the ball but what swung it for us with Care was the money. We have Bupa which covers Care so was worth a “free” round.

good luck 🤞🏼 hope everything is covered in baby dust for us both!

Hi, so I’m currently stimming, hoping for EC shortly. I’ve not had the best round, however that isn’t really at the fault of ARGC, more just my body not playing ball this month! We didn’t do immunes as I don’t have any immune issues. The process is incredibly intense, I’ve also worked throughout which in retrospect I wouldn’t do again. You have bloods at 7.30 every day and then a scan every other day and there are no appt times so you just have to sit and wait for as long as it takes (sometimes a v long time!) Towards the end of stims, I’ve been having two blood tests and a scan a day. I found it all quite stressful to begin with, however once you get into it and just start to trust the process, it’s ok. Everyday they check your blood/scan results and adjust your medication accordingly so it does feel as though you’re getting a very personalised experience. I can’t speak for the results yet, but I do feel as though I’m in good hands and they’re doing everything they can do maximise results. They’ve put me on lots of drugs - viagra (!), blood thinners, aspirin etc. I’m 33 just for reference. Also just fyi that the doctors don’t have the best bedside manner, but they do know their stuff. I’ll try to remember to update once I know the outcome! Wishing you all the best.

@XLouIsStillTrying @Impatientlywaiting10 Thank you both so much for these replies, I showed my partner and we both found it super helpful - it does sound like a lot at ARCG, but at least you know they're not missing anything.

Bearwrangler · 26/02/2024 22:06

Well done getting through all of that. How have you been getting on for the last month?

JJ1121 · 18/02/2025 20:57

@Impatientlywaiting10 hoping things turned out ok for you? About to start with Argc.

Impatientlywaiting10 · 18/02/2025 21:53

@JJ1121 they did! I’ve now got a 4 month old baby boy! I had such a terrible round, we only had two viable embryos left at day 3, they put both in and one stuck! Wishing tou the very best of luck, they really do know what they’re doing.

@Impatientlywaiting10 congratulations!

Do you happen to have a record of their daily medication adjustments? Curious what kind of changes are made in response to blood tests.

JJ1121 · 19/02/2025 12:40

@Impatientlywaiting10 congratulations!! That is so inspiring to hear. I hope you and your family are getting on well. Thanks for sharing! xx
