My clinic have given me the option to do a fresh or frozen.
Just wondering what's your thoughts?
My concerns on both
.. fresh .. my body is still hijacked from all the hormones and ive heard this can impact ( although I did short 12 days stims) I'm still tired.
..frozen.. it can damage an embryo and I've read fresh is considered to have higher success
Really confusing

Surely you do fresh first.
Then as many frozen as you have left from the first collection.
Then another fresh, etc.

Though I guess things have moved on in 20 years, so my 'obvious' may be wrong.

I would have thought fresh. I did a fresh 3day transfer and in currently 6+3 pregnant. You still have the frozen if you need them.

I did fresh first, had 6 good and top grade embryos. Fresh didn't take and I bled early, do upped progesterone on frozen and that worked.

Thanks ladies. I know it makes sense just to use the fresh but frozen was always on the cards as I was a high ohss risk, however I'm told now I'm not at risk anymore they are happy and could go ahead with a fresh but I've been in two minds as I'm feeling absolutely drained from the stims and just feel like my body needs a break to recover. Its flared up my ibs too and I'm contemplating just letting things settle down as I want my body healthy incase we put one in and itdid take and I became pregnant but it's just the fact I read frozen has lower success

I think the lower success rates are a bit older and technology has come on so much, less are lost in thawing process etc and women's bodies are less pumped with hormones. Nearly all the ladies who got pregnant in the ivf group I was in on here were frozen funnily enough. Don't write it off if you have to go for frozen, they can definitely work, my frozen fella was transfered on a Thursday and had made a home by Sunday, got a faint positive on the Monday! He's a noisy 12 week old now, and ivf seemed the easy part in hindsight 😅 all the best with your round x

Hi,
Ive been pregnant from both fresh and frozen transfers. Sadly the first fresh ended in miscarriage. I’m currently almost 18 weeks pregnant with my 4th transfer which was a frozen. I’m for either, I don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer here. If your body’s ready to accept then go with it.
Good luck x
