Laparoscopy

Hi,

I had a laparoscopy, hysterscopy and dye test on Monday, I ended up staying in hospital overnight. My tubes were clear, all ok, other than stage 2 endo found in the pouch of Douglas which was removed.

I have been suffering with really painful cramping the last two days, if you had this procedure did you also suffer with cramping?

also any positive stories on conceiving soon after? How long did you wait before trying again?

thank you

Hi @emted34 just wondering how you got on after? I had this exact procedure done on Wednesday. I weirdly felt better than I thought afterwards however have been cramping a lot since then. Did anything change for you the next cycle?

Hi @Sez281
I hope your operation went well.
A day after writing that post I actually had to go to a&e as the cramping was so painful, I had some bloods done and it actually turned out I was pregnant. I was actually pregnant during the operation which as you can imagine was a tad of a shock.
So sorry you have got the cramping as it was so painful, they struggled to say what it was. They believe it was trapped gas. I thought from doing all the research before the operation that I would be really gassy after but that wasn’t the case, my tummy was so swollen and absolutely massive. Sorry I can’t be much more help x

Oh wow @emted34 I can only imagine the shock! Was the pregnancy viable after it? I was actually worried before mine as I was 8dpo but had bloods the day before and it was negative. It turns out my cramps were a combination of the operation, AF arriving and side affects of the meds but the pain has eased a lot now thankfully. They said the procedure went well and everything is clear so praying next cycle is a lucky one for me 🙏

Hi @Sez281 sorry on my delay.
A total shock! It still doesn’t feel real to be honest. It is viable thankfully, 15 weeks now. A lot of worry what the operation could have done but thankfully all ok. That’s good they did bloods as they only did a urine test for me and I was obviously so early into pregnancy that it didn’t pick it up.
Hope period has been ok? Pleased pain has eased. That’s good everything is clear. I have heard that having the dye procedure bit can help you be very fertile the months after 🤞
Fingers crossed for your next cycle! Let me know how you get on. And I am always here to chat, I understand how hard it is x

Wow @emted34 that's amazing! congratulations! 🙌 Is it your first? They actually only did a urine one with me but I was so worried as I was getting loads on indents on cheap pregnancy tests the day before that I got bloods done with my GP just to rule it out and they came back the morning of the op as zero.

I'm in an awful lot of pain again today, it feels like the trapped gas feeling I had when I woke up but it's in a different part of my tummy. I actually did i pregnancy test earlier because of the pain and the fact that AF was so crazy light and only lasted 3 days but I'd say it's just that there wasn't much lining left after the procedure. I can only imagine the pure shock you had when told you were pregnant. An actual miracle baby! ☺️ And yes I'm hoping the dye and the spruce up down there has left me nice and fresh for fertile window next week (once this pain goes and I'm up to dtd 🙈😂) The best of luck with everything going forward in the pregnancy ☺️ xx
