Affordable Kind IVF or ABC, any experiences?

Hi, I’m looking for any personal experiences of either Kind IVF (Harrow is closest to us) or ABC (St Albans) and I guess some reassurance that these “low cost” packages are ok! My DP is very sceptical about why they’re so much cheaper than other clinics.

For background, we’re yet to start any IVF treatment and both our tests have come back with no issues. I’m 35 and BMI etc all meet the criteria.

Ive read lots of online reviews about ABC and they’re generally ok. I’m not able to find much about Kind, as this is a new treatment that they offer.

Thanks so much x

@missmoosh
They can move pretty quickly depending on appointment availability. I had the post testing consultation on 21st July when I was told I was an approved candidate for Kind.
I wanted to start the next cycle so I had a nursing appointment on 1st August and started meds on 13th.
When they contact you within a few days after the consultation just let them know you are looking to start ASAP so want to book the next available nursing appointment.

@User262 thank you! That's really helpful!

Hi! Just to chime in I have just completed the process with Kind IVF (Canterbury clinic).
As previous poster has said it's nurse lead, although overseen by a consultant.

I had a baseline scan on day 1 of period (I have had stubborn cysts and so had them aspirated in Harley street on day 2 - this was an additional cost of £600)
Bemfola injections once a day, then onto Frymerdal too after five days.

Monitoring scans every other day until egg collection on day 14.

Egg collection in Harley street- great process, no pain and slept through it all. 8 eggs collected- 5 fertilised, 3 made it to day 5 blasts

Cycolgest pessaries twice a day from egg collection and then a fresh transfer 6 days later ( we froze the two additional blasts at a cost of £550 for the year)

I am now officially five weeks pregnant and waiting for our viability scan in two weeks time.

I can't fault the process tbh, we had secondary infertility after trying for 2.5 years and I was dreading it. The whole thing is mentally exhausting but the medical part not too challenging.

Costs wise we paid £2750 including all meds but just to consider the following is not included:
Initial test and consultation (about £500)
Cyst aspiration (quite specific to me but £600)
Embryo freezing (£550 inc 1 year storage)
Cycolgest after positive test (£15 per week up until 12 weeks pregnant).

So all in all, highly recommend, go for it!

All the best
Jaz

@JazBag huge congratulations on your positive test! Fingers crossed it's a smooth pregnancy and all is well at the viability scan! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

missmoosh · 24/10/2023 08:01

@JazBag congratulations!
That is the exact clinic I will be going to! How long would you say the process from initial testing to having your meds ready to go was?
My initial testing and consultation is 300 as my DH has a recent semen analysis which they have accepted.
I don't know if we will freeze as we are doing one round whilst we wait for NHS rounds and I can't find info on if we would have to use any frozen ones first. (We can have 1 round self funded before out nhs entitlement is affected).

User262 · 24/10/2023 08:17

@missmoosh if you know where you have been referred to on nhs you can call them and ask about using frozen. Most likely you do have to use at least one frozen but it will depend what they define as one round.
I am north west London and also did kind whilst waiting on nhs referral. I phoned Chelsea and Westminster where I a referred and spoke with the fertility team who told me I had to use up any frozen embryos before being able to go ahead with any further nhs rounds.
I am currently waiting for my funding 🤞🏽

Good luck with kind hope it works out and you don't even need to worry about nhs entitlement 🙏🏼

Thanks 😊💕

Well in theory it can be really quick, you have to have an up to date smear and screening bloods for you and partner, then you can go from next cycle.

For us this didn't happen 😂 I had a cyst which we tried to get rid of by a month on the pill, unfortunately I had one of the rarest side effects and it gave me liver failure....! So had to recover fully before we got going - but pretty unusual I think!

missmoosh · 24/10/2023 08:52

@JazBag oh no! That's sounds awful! Sorry to hear you had to go through that!

Excellent I have an up to date smear, so it's just the bloods then! Will just push them to be really quick about it, don't want to wait until the new year 😂 next cycle looks like it will fall beautifully over Christmas😅

missmoosh · 24/10/2023 08:54

@User262 not to sure where the referral is going, so might just call my top couple of choices and find out

You do all the bloods at the nurse consultation which they like to schedule two weeks before starting, so it's super quick from that point!

Wishing you all the luck, it's a bit of an emotional rollercoaster! Xx

missmoosh · 24/10/2023 09:13

@JazBag oh excellent, so as long as I push for that nurses consultation to be ASAP after the initial testing one, hopefully we will get it all done just in time! Fingers crossed I don't have a random short cycle!

Whxy66 · 23/01/2024 12:21

Hi there! I was doing my research on KIND IVF and found very little about it so it was so nice to see this thread with experiences shared!
@missmoosh may I ask if you have had your treatment? if so how long did it take for you? and how would you rate them?

We already had the tests and an initial consultation with the doctor but still feel a bit uncertain - it will be our first time.

Thanks a lot!

missmoosh · 23/01/2024 12:25

@Whxy66 hey, I actually conceived unassisted, found out 3 days before we were due to start! I have to say my dealings with them since being pregnant have been positive, they were very quick to refund us, and allowed us to wait until we had the 12 week scan as well, so if anything went wrong we wouldn't lose any money. I would have been happy having a cycle with them had we not fallen ourselves 😊 sorry can't be of more help!

Whxy66 · 23/01/2024 13:44

@missmoosh oh don't worry about it! Huge congratulations on the great news! Hope all goes well ❤️

Simbabell88 · 19/03/2024 20:08

hi just wondered was you successful at kind ivf ?

JazBag · 19/03/2024 20:11

@Simbabell88 yes! Highly recommend. Currently 26 weeks after a single round with two left in the freezer!

Simbabell88 · 19/03/2024 21:14

What does that mean? Another two left ? Sorry new to this . Congratulations 🙌

JazBag · 19/03/2024 21:16

@Simbabell88 sorry!

I did one round of ivf with Kind IVF at london women's clinic. We transferred 1 embryo on that cycle which was a success and now pregnant- we froze the two other embryos left over from the cycle which can be used in the future if we wish

Happy to answer any questions if you have any 😊

Simbabell88 · 19/03/2024 21:37

Oh thanks that’s really
he 😀.do they do payment options? And
how long did the process take from start to finish?

I think they have a payment plan.
There's tests and consultations to start but once you're approved and ready to go it works with your natural cycle so it's about 4 weeks start to finish x

Simbabell88 · 19/03/2024 21:51

That’s very quick. Thank you 🤩
