Cyclogest - not being absorbed rectally?

I'm on my second cycle of Letrozole combined with Cyclogest for progesterone support as my progesterone is low and I have a short luteal phase.
For my first cycle on it I inserted the Cyclogest vaginally and my period was held off until I stopped using them. I didn't get any spotting either. This cycle I decided to use them rectally instead because I heard it was less messy. This time I've started spotting at 11dpo like I normally do. They say it doesn't matter which way you insert but I wonder if it matters for me? Did anyone else find the way you inserted them changed the effects?

I think it’s such a weird one. My clinic told me that they like me to insert vaginally but then I’ve heard from others that their clinic suggest rectally. What I did find helpful was making sure I insert them when I’m lying down.

I tried them both ways and it turned out I wasn't absorbing them. I had to have the injections instead.

Interestingly, I switched back to vaginal insertion and the spotting stopped within hours. I must be absorbing them okay vaginally but not absorbing them rectally. @Decaffe how did you find out you weren't absorbing them either way?

Ah that’s good!

I had a progesterone test the morning of one of my transfers and it was 6 or something like that - virtually zero anyway. The consultants were shocked as I’d been having I think four of these suppositories a day. Sorry I can’t remember the exact details but if you AS me it was last November, I posted about it a lot! Immediately they switched to the Lubion injections and they raised my progesterone to where it needed to be.

Identical here. Test on transfer day and given lubion. Currently very pregnant x
