IVF/ICSI - Implantation issues.. What have they introduced for you?

Hi!

I am just wanting to hear a few different experiences if possible?

I am onto my 3rd and final funded NHS IVF/ICSI cycle. I have had 2 egg collections, 4 transfers and no positive pregnancy tests... so implantation must be an issue!? I'm now down reg'ing for my last egg collection and have asked my clinic if there is anything that can help with implantation, introduce anything, test for anything (I asked specifically about prednisolone too) and this was their response..

"We would not recommend anything additional at this stage. I could request a review to discuss for you but most likely this would be after treatment? By all means a dr will be around in clinic during your next scan appointment and we can re-address then but from previous experience this is not something we would prescribe or recommend for yourself."

What I'm asking is did your clinic do anything different for you if you have struggled with implantation? If so, were you NHS funded or private? Did they suggest it? Did you ask? What was it they did/prescribed etc ?

I just don't understand how they aren't willing to try anything!?! They don't ever give me a reason. I think if I do ever manage to save up money and fund another cycle myself I won't be returning to this clinic. They have changed nothing in 4 failed transfers and 3 cycles.

Hello

I had two failed FET transfers. My clinic said their protocol was to review me after 3 failed. I didn’t want to go into the next cycle doing the same and it not work again so asked for a consultant review anyway and it was the best thing I could have done.
It took a few months of work up but I had a hysteroscopy and biopsy to rule out any physical issues, full haemophilia screen. Hysteroscopy was normal but bloods slightly off so I was on clexane and aspirin for my next FET. I also had an endometrial scratch before the transfer (not enough research for HFEA to promote at present but anecdotal evidence it helps). I’m not sure if you have frozen embryos but you could discuss with clinic option for transferring two if willing to risk twins, some think double transfer increases
chance of one implanting.
I felt mentally a lot stronger going into third FET knowing I had prepared all I could and fortunately we got a positive result (v early days!)
This was a self funded FET cycle and luckily managed to get the hysteroscopy done at my local hospital.
please don’t lose hope, I’d really push for a consultant review and ask these questions
wishing you all the best xxx

I am in the same situation! I fell pregnant naturally 2.5 year ago then had Missed miscarriage at 9 weeks.

Due to various reasons all my transfers been FET. First 3 times my lining only got to 6mm or just under. I had a D& C to try help lining, scans done all clear still no improvement. Changed medication protocols and have had my embryos tested for chromosone abnormalities. Last time lining was 8mm, 5AA egg, chromosone normal and still no luck.

Recurrent implantation bloods all negative.

Next steps for this cycle - endometrium scratch on day 21 before starting cycle. (Google the science) just a theory it may help vs a high guarantee. Also going to have a course of ABs at time of transfer as another theory is bacteria could attack cells and stop implantation.
Again just a theory cos they have no explanation.
