Additional tests for unexplained infertility

I'm nhs in Scotland and have been diagnosed with unexplained infertility. We are both in our 30s with no children. No positive in over 2 years of trying and then a year for an ivf cycle that ended in miscarriage and recent FET didn't take. They have done hycosy and the usual blood tests and scans and exams and all fine.

What else can I get done privately in the UK to try and give us an explanation?

I have done my own generics through 23andme and I do not carry anything that should affect fertility, including looking up my raw data. I have never had long or heavy or difficult periods apart from during ivf due to the meds/miscarriage. I have high amh but did not respond well to stims and they only got 5 eggs of which 2 became blasts quickly. I have high AFC with no cysts. Basically no issues other than it not working. I eat well and exercise not too much. Bmi is 23 and dh is similar and we have never smoked or taken drugs.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Hey, bump I'm wondering the exact same. I'm in a similar position and have been looking into alternative tests to see what the issue could be. I've heard of a dart test but I'm also being careful of not being taken advantage of!

I'm in a similar boat having not seen a positive in over 3 years of trying... due to have my first IVF consultation in July.

We recently went to a private urologist who managed to give us some hope regarding "explaining the unexplained". Despite a normal SA, he found a varicocele, which might be causing high DNA fragmentation. The more I dig into DNA fragmentation, the more mind boggling it is that this isn't a standard test!!

He also suspected a potential issue with an infection/our microbiome so have just ordered an at-home test, and DP's SA has been tested for any infection/inflammation.

I wish we had made this appointment earlier, as we're stuck on whether to proceed with IVF or not... and we had suspected a varicocele for years but were frustratingly dismissed by the GP multiple times.

So if you're stuck on next steps and all looks good with the standard fertility tests, I'd recommend getting a DNA fragmentation test done for your DH.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage OP
