Polyp removal

Hi hive mind! I am having a polyp removed this week via a hysteroscopy plus a coloposcopy y biopsy for good measure.

My consultant has said I can start IVF the next menstrual cycle but I am worried this isn’t enough time for my uterus / cervix to heal before a fresh transfer.

Does anyone have any thoughts or experience in this?

@KG1244 also what type of FET did you have?

@Sunflower360 my first round was my period after the hysteroscopy and polyp removal and I did natural FET with a 4BB embryo and it sadly failed. I then did my next round with medicated FET with a 4BC embryo and it was successful.

Thanks @KG1244 for sharing. I was a bit worried doing a medicated FET in case it could make the polyp return as I'm pretty sure its happened because of the extra hormones with the IVF (I did pretty much 3 back to back IVF egg collection cycles), did you find medicated FET was ok? Of course you got a good result, which was great, just wondering with how you felt etc in comparison to the natural? My other thought was natural modified FET

@Sunflower360 I was nervous about that as well but I think when I discussed it with the consultant they said it was possible but the medicated FET drugs weren’t the same strength as EC drugs. Before I even started IVF one of the consultants I had seen before said plenty of people do get pregnant with polyps. I know it’s really hard to decide but personally, I would go for medicated FET with lubion as that’s what worked for me. You would be super unlucky to get another polyp that is big enough to require removal after a medicated FET round

@Sunflower360 I was on Cyclogest pessaries, hormone patches and lubion. I’m not 100% sure of each of their purposes but when I did a google of using lubion, people generally fed back that it helped them get pregnant with IVF. I know it’s so difficult to know why one round works and others don’t but as it worked for me, I would do the same again. Hopefully your clinic will be able to advise as well.
