Hi. Just had my amh results this week and totally devastated. Ttc a little over a year and nothing. 35yo here. Referred to the clinic, still waiting for first appointment. 2.2pmol amh. Any chance that ivf will work with this low amh? Any experience? Thanks

Hello, just saw the notification for this thread so thought I'd provide an update!

My AMH at the time of taking the test was 2.2 and for my cycle of IVF I had 7 follicles.

From those 7 follicles, they retrieved 5 eggs. 3 fertilised and 2 made it to day 5 blasto. My first fresh transfter resulted in a BFN but my final blasto FET resulted in a BFP and I'm currently 4 months pregnant! The odds are lower with a low AMH but it can still work. I took the supplements from ISWTE religiously for 3 months leading up to egg collection and I really think that's what helped me!

Hi Kora, I’m really sorry you're going through this, that first AMH result can feel like such a blow, especially after months of TTC. But please know you're not alone, and low AMH doesn’t necessarily mean IVF won’t work. There are those gone on to have successful outcomes with similar numbers. It can depend on how your body responds to stimulation, egg quality, and the clinical approach is massive. you might find it helpful to look at Fertility Mapper, you can filter or even reach out to ask specifically about experiences with low AMH. Some clinics have more experience with this kind of situation than others, and it can really help to feel as though you are on the best posible path for you. x
