IVI London vs IVF london

Can anyone help in making us decide between the two clinics in London. IVF London has very good reviews and have zymot, PICSI whereas IVI London believe that these do not make any changes. Any comments would be helpful.

I don't know IVF London but we decided against IVI London as their offer was less than the Spanish clinics operating under the same brand name. I had some tests in IVI London so that the Spanish IVI could use the results. Their admin wasn't very good (although the same could be said of lots of clinics).

@norasol how are you finding ivflondon? Have you started a cycle?
I'm in south west London but thinking of going with them.

Hi!
Yes I'm keen to know too how you've found them so far as I'm considering a switch to them too.

Hello all, I am still in treatment. As I mentioned, I am doing duostim which involves having a stimulation and egg collection and then after 5 days, start another stimulation and egg collection. Now, I am in the second stimulating phase. In my first egg collection, I only had 2 eggs collected which was very low in comparison with my previous IVF cycles. I had 2 IVF cycles in another clinic where 13 eggs were collected in each. So this was a dissapointment. The 2 eggs retrieved did end up into blastocysts which will be sent to PGS Testing. According to IVF London my ovarian reserve has lowered but actually amh has not and my AFC was better than in my previous cycles. I did stimulate only for 7 days which I think it is very short, but it seems i had two eggs that were already mature and doctor mentioned that this is why I needed to be triggered.

We did go with IVF London as they were more optimistic about my case than IVI. IVF London recommended many add ons, which IVI indicated they would not improve my chances. But since this could be our last IVF cycle we went with add ons. We also noticed that IVI were very busy and gave us the first consultation after nearly 2 months.

My experience so far with IVF London is the following:

  1. Follow up scans and blood tests. They are really good and efficient, mostly on time (of course you can wait 5-10 minutes) but in my previous clinic I would spend most of my mornings and sometimes afternoons waiting in the clinic to be scanned and get blood tests. This is important if you have to catch up with work or your day.
  2. Pharmacy: They use a private company to deliver your medications. This has plus and negatives. The plus side is that in my previous clinic I had to go to the pharmacy in the hospital and would spend at least an hour to get the prescriptions. In IVF london you do not but you do have to follow up with the company and in my first cycle the company said they did get my prescription from the clinic. I did call the clinic and they fixed this but I was afraid I would not have my medication on time. They do have some medication in the clinic which if available you can get there in emergencies.
  3. Doctors and nurses. Very easy access to nurses and respond very quickly. You can whatsapp them on weekends. Doctors show more care than in previous clinic and even phoned me after she saw I was dissapointed with my result and tried to cheer me up. In previous clinic doctors will never be available even if requested.
  4. IVF London do not have scans and tests during the weekend. I think this is a negative as sometimes with stimulation can go so fast and you need these checks. However, the embroyologist did give me updates on the embryo during the weekend and I was informed they can do egg collections.

Let me know if you have any questions. As I said I could give better update when I finish treatment.

Thank you this was very informative!
May I ask how much your duo stim cycle is please just out of interest?

Duo-stim was around 10k but you have to add the virology, and other add ons( icsi, pgta, etc). Medications and transfers not included.
