Hi everyone. Was wondering if anyone can give me an insight into what happens now. Background a bit. I'm 31, my partner is 32. My partner has no children. Weve had 3 miscarraiges and 1 ectopic in 12 months. I've also had 1 more ectopic, 1 full term stillbirth and 2 live births. Sorry for sounded clinical about it all but I'm trying to keep my emotions calm. I'm on a waiting list to have a scan on my fallopian tubes incase there is any damage, I've been waiting since July. My doctor said she can help us. We've only been trying for 14 months so I know that's too soon for ivf referral. What tests can my doctor run in the meantime? We are thinking of doing some private to get ahead of things. Someone please guide me in the right direction. I am lost and broken at this point.

Hi,

Before IVF I had hycosy to check my fallopian tubes, an AMH blood test to check my egg reserves and a scan to check ovaries for follicle count. I also had day 21 progesterone tests to make sure I was ovulating.

More crucially for us was my husbands sperm test. It came back very low and due to a varicocele we had to have IVF.

Do you have a child already? I see you say partner has no children but don't say if you do? You coukd get private sperm analysis and bloods for yourself and partner to skip the wait on NHS, which is likely to be long atm sadly.

Sorry I totally missed you have two little ones! So sorry for your losses too, you've been through alot. Hope you get seen quickly by the Dr, chase and chase I'd say x

Sorry to perhaps spin a negative, but I was just wondering if you would be eligible for NHS IVF seeing as you have two children yourself. I know some of the criteria differs in different regions.
When I had my NHS IVF 8.5 years ago, we wouldn't have been eligible if either of us had children.

Might be worth double checking your area if they haven't told you already.

I'm so sorry for your previous losses. Best of luck with your journey ✨🤞🏼

Thanks for the replies ladies.
Yes we're eligible for ivf, the criteria has changed now. Aslong as one partner DOESNT have children you are eligible.

I'll look into having those tests done. I imagine the wait is long considering I've waited since July to have my tubes checked. We have no problem paying the test parts private because from what we've looked up locally they arent too expensive.and I'd like to get ahead and find out some things beforehand. But the whole ivf treatment would be way too expensive for us. Xx
