Hi all, I just wanted to reach out to see if anyone else has a similar story to mine and whether they found out why. I’ve had two unsuccessful pregnancies - an ectopic that ruptured 12 yrs ago and a pregnancy of unknown location Sept-Oct last yr - and whilst my GP is happy to refer me for any tests we want I’m not even sure where to start. We’ve been trying for nearly a year now and had a pregnancy of unknown location after 5 months of trying and nothing since then (maybe 2 or 3 cycles). The ectopic ruptured the tube and led to it being removed so I knew it would take a bit longer to get pregnant. But the PUL made me worry that maybe I have endometriosis or something else blocking my tubes. We went for a scan before Christmas and everything looks great; I had average number of follicles and whilst a few fibroids they’re not in the way or very large, endometrium healthy and no fluid apparent in fallopian tube. The person scanning was so positive after the scan that she asked us to let us know if we were successful that time round. I’ve always had heavy but regular periods, I ovulate when I should (confirmed by LH and BBT). I’m 36 and my husband is 38 so we are a bit older. I’ve asked to be referred for a HSG privately as I’ve read that this can be both helpful in identifying what’s happening in the tube (and I only have one left!) and can dislodge any debris making it easier to conceive. My husband is starting to stress me out about everything and thinks we need to start IVF straight away but my gut feeling is that we can get pregnant naturally. Plus I would much rather avoid it (I have friends going through it so have a much better idea than he does about what it actually involves and how unsuccessful it usually is). But considering our age am I being silly not to start down that route right now? Has anyone had a similar experience and gotten pregnant naturally? Or had additional tests that were helpful in identifying what might be going wrong? I’d appreciate any and all help on this!
