Can this be true...?!
I've been pregnant twice before very easily, I have a 2.5 year old. All a sudden my periods stopped in November when we wanted another baby. Having a private consultation on Thursday but i am in utter despair.
Anyone else so young with this extremely low AMH?
I'm in shock.

@1greentea

Hello, sorry I don't have any advice, but im in a similar situation. I'm 34 and last summer found out my amh was 1.1(so probably lower now). I was to get another blood test to check for premature ovarian failure. I had two miscarriages last year and have been told to wait till march before proceeding at the clinic. I had my first child at thirty and got pregnant first month without tracking ovulation. I was really shocked that I have a low amh too. My periods have been really irregular too.

If you don't mind, can you let me know what happens at your appointment?

@Mac425
Hi,
Yes of course I will. I know a consultant gynae and I went to him first and he wasn't concerned about my missing periods, I've had bloods at the GP too and my FSH is very high BUT they were done randomly in my cycle not on day 3 as they are supposed to be done. So not very reliable, but obviously I think the worst. He said repeat bloods after 4 weeks so I've booked them in. Then he said to wait for them and then maybe try the pill for a month to reset things but I'm too inpatient so had to book a private cons and pelvic scan. I've read lots about regardless of amh natural conception is still very achievable! Although not for me as no periods so just want to know what's going with them. Shit isn't it. We're not old!!

@1greentea I agree we are not old!!!

I think it would be good to have the bloods taken again. Hopefully results are better.

My cycles have been irregular since trying...anything from 17-38 days. Last summer I found a fertility reflexologist and I did get pregnant the month after but it might have just been chance.

IVFlife · 23/01/2023 22:52

Yes. I have premature ovarian insufficiency.

Take care of yourself. Happy to answer anything

@IVFlife
Oh gosh, how old are you? What symptoms did you have?
I have very normal estrogen levels so must mean I have eggs to produce that? I just got my period after 74 days, so will now get proper day 3 bloods and a pelvic uss day 9.
Have you been successful with IVF? Everything I Google is doom and gloom but I have also found a lot of stuff that says it isn't actually very indicative or reliable in terms of chances of natural conception, only bad if you want IVF?
Such a mind fuck.
Thanks for replying x

@1greentea
Hello, I was curious to see how you were getting on as we are in similar situations.

KoraPersefone · 19/03/2023 23:50

Just got my amh last week. 35yo and 2.2pmol amh (should be around 0.3ng) so practically very low. Chance for me to get pregnant naturally is almost 0 (we have been trying for just over a year and nothing happened). No symptoms and my period is still regular. Been referred to the clinic but still don't know if I qualify for ivf with this low amh (I've read most of the clinics in England do not do ivf if amh is lower than 5 something). I don't even have energy to be upset or sad anymore. 😢

1greentea · 20/03/2023 09:24

I am pregnant now with amh <0.2. There's always hope xx

@1greentea amazing news!!

Ilikeviognier · 20/03/2023 18:03

just to add. Studies have shown that low amh on its own have no impact on natural conception. Look it up. Mine was 2.8 age 34 so was in a very similar situation. However I got pregnant 3 times after learning this news and now have two children.

low Amh has the biggest impact on ivf chances. Even then- Ivf also worked for me on the first go.

MrsD7 · 21/03/2023 14:43

@1greentea I was diagnosed with low AMH in October. We conceived our first child almost 3 years ago, after trying for 2.5 years. We have now been trying for our second for over 2 years and my AMH is 3.9pmol at 34.
We are looking to start IVF in the next few months but feel completely torn because, as you say, most research says that low AMH doesn't affect natural fertility. My cycles are regular and I have had ovulation confirmed, so I think we need IVF regardless.
Sending you lots of love and baby dust!

1greentea · 21/03/2023 18:58

@MrsD7
Have you been tracking ovulation correctly? I got an ovusense and conceived that month, by seeing when my window was approaching we timed it all perfectly. I'd really recommend it. I also took coq10 for 2 months which I've read can improve egg quality.

MrsD7 · 22/03/2023 08:15

@1greentea ive used ovusense for years and also spent thousands on supplements for years! As well as acupuncture, reflexology, caster oil packs, literally anything the deep dark pages of Google tells me might work!
what amount of CoQ10 did you take? I was taking 200mg per day but thinking I might up it to 600mg in perpetration for IVF.

Mac425 · 22/03/2023 21:25

@mrs
In the past I used coq10 from good clean supplements. Not sure of the dosage but claimed to be more effective than other retailers.
