Hi everyone im new to mums.net and ive joined to see if i can find advice /support on my TTC journey ive been TTC naturally for 1 year and now 42 years of age. I have neen diagnosed with fibroids and I am now considering ivf and would really appreciate it if people could provide some advice experience on clinics in birmingham as its a emotionally challenging and expensive journey and any advice along the way would be very helpful x

I'm afraid I can't recommend a good clinic in Birmingham - we did one cycle with the Priory in Birmingham and had a pretty awful time. Their main issue is that they seem to have no admin staff which means that their communications are awful - we had to chase every step of the way to get appointments and any treatment, and you have to leave a message on a voicemail then they'll phone you back at some point during the day, which really doesn't fit well with a busy work day. We also really didn't get on with our consultant, and felt that our treatment wasn't specialised to us in any way. I think we had our EC on the day they'd decided we'd have our EC on at the start of the cycle rather than waiting a bit longer to let some more of my follicles get to an appropriate size. This meant that a lot of our eggs were immature. Some of the nurses and the counsellor were lovely though.

We're now with a non-Birmingham clinic which is more expensive, but way better.

This website has the success rates and pricing for clinics in Birmingham, so is hopefully useful to you: www.totalfertility.co.uk/en/fertility-clinics/west-midlands/

I had twins via Create Birmingham and know a few women who had success with them. That being said I also know others who didn't get on with them. It's a very subjective and personal experience

I believe looking at success rates in Birmingham Care fertility have the best success rates. I would also look at ABC as they are the cheapest by far and to be honest are owned by create so like the no frills version but Im told it isn't that different really. Don't rule out Birmingham Women's hospital as well. Don't think they are that bad, pretty well priced and decent success rates.

ABC do have a new clinic in Birmingham but has very strict age criteria - age 36

There is also Care but I found them quite clinical at the open evening.

We’re about to start with Care Fertility in Birmingham (Dr. Rajkhowa) who has come highly recommended by a friend who has seen several consultants at different clinics over the years and rated them and her as the best they have seen.

Thankyou for getting back and for the information, wishing you all the best on your journey and please do let me know how you get on x
