IVF or try naturally?

I'm trying to figure out something in my head and grateful for others' thoughts/experiences or indeed information that they have been told from their clinic: assuming no fertility issues known, is it better to try naturally for a baby or is there more chance of getting pregnant if you have an egg collection for the egg and then have options such as IVF/ICSI etc?

Let's assume there are no known issues with conception (and let's also assume, as would be in my case, there is no likelihood of getting more than one egg from IVF per cycle anyway (DOR)) would you think there's more chance of that egg turning into a baby if you have regular unprotected sex at the right time, or would you think it would be better to get that egg out, give it to the clinic and let them to ICSI or IVF or whatever to see if they can turn it into a baby!

The specifics of my situation are to do with egg freezing (I appreciate therefore the eggs might not thaw correctly and be any good in future, but leaving that aside...) or trying naturally (or perhaps with a timed intercourse/scans cycle etc but ultimately just having sex at the right time)

My clinic has recommended I do more egg freezing first before I think about the timed intercourse idea, due to my extremely low egg reserve. But then this would ofc have a financial benefit to them! Bearing in mind I'll almost certainly only get 1 egg per cycle regardless, I'm just trying to get it straight in my head if their advice also makes sense to me - I guess it does make sense that more chance of an egg reaching baby stage with clinic's help than trying naturally?

I would recommend you have a look at the ask Robert section of the genesis research trust website. There’s a lot of information on there about these kind of subjects.

My consultant told us that IVF could speed the process up but at the end of 2 years 90% of couples would conceive naturally anyway and there are no guarantees with IVF and it’s obviously very expensive.

Thanks. I've never looked at that before and it was helpful....I've submitted a question too so we'll see...

Grateful for any other thoughts...

That’s great. I’m not sure if it’s still active in terms of replies. I submitted a question a while ago too. Good luck!
