Create/ABC v. ARGC

I'm trying to decide between Create/ABC and ARGC. Has anybody had IVF with both of them and can share views on the pros/cons?

Hello. I did go to initial checks with create but decided to go with ARGC purely due to success rates with ARGC. I have a low amh and create was recommended to me but after speaking with ARGC I decided to go with them. Create said my success rates would be less than 20% with their treatment method. I’m Currently breastfeeding one of my 2 week old twins ☺️

ARGC is very intense and demanding but I would do it over again.

I would suggest having a chat with both and discussing your underlying issues so you can get an idea of what treatment will be suggested for you from each.

all the best x

Many many congratulations! And thank you for your response.

All the people I know who went with ARGC had twins....!

Do you know why they all had twins from attending ARGC? I am currently deciding between create and ARGC too.

No, I don't know. But I'm wondering if they're transferring multiple embryos at the same time...?

I understand they do that for 40+ as per guidance/protocol in place. But then I would’ve thought the same would said about other clinics too (ie many having twins). Maybe ARGC have a much larger number of 40+ going there. I first went when 39. Ended up conceiving without ivf/any help from them. But now 43 and had 2 miscarriages in a year (had 4 pregnancies total in 4 years but only 1 ending in birth of only child). Going back to clinic choosing is not straightforward!

A friend is with create. Had lots of issues getting pregnant after her first. Tried other clinics (not ARGC) without success. Now 14wk pregnant at create. She felt they were more ‘tailor made’ in approach.

I'm also trying to decide between ARGC and CREATE. I'm very new to IVF (trying to get my head around the jargon!) and I'd be interested to hear which clinic rihanna4 and Lndm chose in the end and why.

I've seen very mixed reviews of ARGC in terms of care and cost over the years, plus they don't have a payment plan and seem to focus more on conventional IVF compared to mild/natural IVF at CREATE. I understand ARGC have better success rates compared to many clinics for older wannabe-mum's like me (I'm 42), but is it worth the risk of too much stress from the treatment causing failure, and are the statistics really down to those who do succeed having twins?

I've had two operations for endometriosis since July 2022, and one pregnancy in between which ended in miscarriage after 10 weeks. Age is not on my side, so any advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance. 🙂

Hi @Love31 huge congratulations! Please would
you mind explaining a bit more about what you mean by ‘intense and demanding’? We’ll be looking at ivf in a couple of months if no bfp, and I’d like to know what I can expect. Thank you x

Love31 · 31/08/2023 14:25

Thank you! Sure. When I say intense for the period of about 2 weeks during stimulation you have to attend the clinic every morning for blood tests at around 7.30 am

During the second week you potentially have to visit the clinic twice. Once for blood tests at 7.30 and then later in the afternoon for additional tests or scans.

Theres a lot of early starts alongside the taking of the injections and overall emotional element. Once you have your blood taken you have to wait for a phone call from the clinic for instructions on what medication to take. This can equally be a little stressful…
Argc very much don’t have the human empathy side if that’s what you’re looking for but they get the results.

Good luck 💖

@LoveMuddyWellies Hello I was looking at this post previously and it’s cropped back up. I’m at Create and soon to start round 3 (1st 2 rounds unsuccessful). I’m not a fan of the clinic. I have to chase and push for appointments and information/answers to queries. I sense the clinic is overrun (maybe due to influx of NHS referrals??). If you have time on your side it wouldn’t be as stressful. It’s somewhat ‘tailor made’ but really it isn’t - they have their set protocols and you slot in somewhere. They are willing to change round 3 protocol for me however (due to no success so far) - so not inflexible. A friend recommended it to me after she had tried 1 (or 2?) other clinics in London without success. She has been successful at Create (baby recently born). If you can, consider IVF Life in Alicante or Madrid. I don’t make the recommendation casually! I know of some impressive success rates from UK women who have gone there after failure in the UK and have had success there. In Europe (and elsewhere) they are more progressive - UK is a little hampered by HFEA regulations. Going to Spain might sound too difficult logistically. It isn’t - a friend went once over 3/4 days and then again for a day or so. They have a nursery over the road (in Alicante). It’s didn’t cost more/much more. You just need to figure out logistics. They sometimes offer free video consults. I understand they may now be connected to a London clinic (not sure if it’s under the same name) so you can do some things here. Worth speaking to them. Sorry this is long! If you have questions happy to be more specific! I also went to ARGC years ago but got pregnant just before starting treatment.
