NHS IVF - How many rounds?

Hello MNers..

Is there a way to find out online how many rounds of IVF are available on the NHS for a particular area/hospital/CCG? I've heard it can be different in different areas of the country but can't seem to find out what it is here.

Also, is one round classed as one transfer and any frozen embryos used in future transfers are classed as another round, or are all eggs retrieved in one go classed as the same round?
Again, not sure if this changes depending on location?

I've seen some posts where people are saying they still have another round on the NHS left, but not sure how to find out this information. When I asked the current consultant she seemed to think we would be eligble for one round, but not sure what this is based on if others are eligible for more.

I am looking to be referred to Wrightinton.

Sorry if this question is a bit all over the place - a bit like my head at the minute with all the questions/worries. x

Google NHS IVF criteria for (name of your local) CCG and it will bring up the information for your area. They can differ quite a bit, in some areas I believe people can have 3 rounds of IVF, others only get one. if your consultant is saying one then that may be all your area will fund.

Although NICE recommend up to 3 cycles of IVF should be offered on the NHS, some ICBs only offer 1 cycle, or only offer NHS-funded IVF in exceptional circumstances. Ask your GP or contact your local integrated care board (ICB) to find out whether NHS-funded IVF treatment is available in your area

I see you said Wrightington which uses the Hewitt centre?

Hewitt is Cheshire & Merseyside CCG but it’s a satellite centre so says
If you are covered by another Clinical Commissioning Group, you'll need to check whether funding is available for treatments and whether you meet the relevant criteria.
