Hi @Notgivingup78
sorry to hear about your struggles and your losses, it’s a tough place to be. What was the outcome of the genetic consultation on the segmented aneuploidy if you don’t mind me asking?
In a similar boat to you and finding it hard to come across relevant threads so hoping someone else may be able to join in, but wanted to share my experience.
Currently 42 and about to start my first ever IVF round with PGS testing following 4 natural pregnancies and subsequent miscarriages in the space of 1 year.
Started trying for a baby at 40, not much happened for a while until DH stopped smoking and I became pregnant immediately at 41, then continued to get pregnant easily but miscarry by the 8th week.
Had every investigative test under the sun done, including sperm DNA fragmentation and no single obvious cause was identified as I joined the 1% club of women who have 3 or more consecutive miscarriages so it’s put down to age-related egg quality hence
why the PGT-A testing is recommended otherwise I wouldn’t actually need IVF to get pregnant.
This one round is literally all we can afford so if it doesn’t work that is the end for us. Had 14.9 AMH and 16 follicles back in May so decent parameters overall, but if we don’t get enough embryos I really can’t afford banking as I see many other women do on these threads.
I would love to hear some stories about women in similar positions or going through the same thing right now and how did things pan out.
I believe at my age chances of success are terribly slim, somewhere between just 5-10%. The fact that I get pregnant easily and had reasonably good OR parameters when tested may mean those odds are slightly improved, but it’s impossible to find statistics that granular.
Not willing to consider donor’s eggs.
Very happy to answer any questions anyone may have in relation to may personal experience.
Thanks!
