Private investigations for male infertility?

Hi! Just wondering if anyone's husbands/SOs with diagnosed infertility problems (such as low sperm motility) have had success with further investigations or treatment at private hospitals?

All my husband got from the NHS was two analysis which confirmed that he has extremely low sperm motility (probably due to an infection in his twenties). There were no scans for him to show potential blockages or any other suggested exploratory investigations.

Surely a deeper investigation into the problem has got to be worth a shot right?

We were in same boat, so went to a private urologist. Hubby got diagnosed with a grade 3 severe varicocele so we went private for embolization, this didn't work due to husbands vein configuration but works 90% of time otherwise. We're now having IVf privately, just wanted not to wait anymore but we are entitled to two on NHS. It's worth finding the cause of your husbands low count before IVF as it may be fixable, and if not then they'll know more to get mlst from your IVF cycle, like doing surgical sperm removal or ICSI. Good luck with your investigations! X

@Imisscoffee2021 Thanks :D From what I remember his count was very high (last check was a few years ago now) it was just the motility issue that was causing us problems. We had a miracle son after two years of trying and are now nearly at a year trying for number two. We don't qualify for NHS help any more so we'll have to use our savings for private ICSI unless we can solve the motility thing first.

I'll look into a private urologist near us :)

My partner saw Jonathan Ramsay in London and couldn’t have asked for better care. 400 miles away but worth all the travelling and the investment!

@MyEasterEggs I've just been reading about him :) We live in Sussex fortunately so there's a clinic of his about an hour away from us.
