Hello, first time poster, although I've found many conversations invaluable on here:)
I've only just started to read the new CMA report that has been published about private IVF providers, but there are some pretty shocking consumer practices highlighted in it. For those that haven't seen it (and I don't want to discourage anyone, but the more you know...): www.gov.uk/cma-cases/self-funded-ivf-consumer-law-guidance#compliance-review-findings
I have been offered the choice of 4 clinics through my NHS Hospital: Bourne Hall Cambridge, CCRGH, London Women's Clinic, Create. The success rates for most of them on HFEA website are very old - newest I've seen are 2018-2019. When you dig into the statistics, Create claim to report that they had 100% success rate (120/120), and CCRGH's births per egg collection claim to be 63%(!!). Don't really know, the HFEA website is meant to be independently audited, but the data is so old...
Choosing among them seems to be based on "gut-feel". I've had some tests at Create privately, and found them to be fine. Every clinic seems to have both good and bad reviews on this site. I know this question has been asked many times before, but can anyone share their experiences of the above clinics? Is there any difference between going with NHS and private in terms of treatment? Thank you! I hope this post helps others too!
P.S. There's also an IVF consumer guide: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/992534/Patient_guide_fertility__.pdf
