@2021ivfagain so is your transfer today or is the thaw for a different reason?

I'm just out of my hysteroscopy. Found and removed a big adhesion going right through the middle of my uterus! He doesn't know where it came from. Could that have been from my miscarriage (I had medical management)? I'm glad it's out! I've got to have a saline sonogram in a couple of weeks, when I'll be in to to check ovulation is near when on letrazole. I enjoyed the sedative nap!

2021ivfagain · 30/09/2022 08:50

@seven201

They are thawing day 3 embryos today.

seven201 · 30/09/2022 08:51

@2021ivfagain is that to test them or to transfer one/two? Sorry your dh is covid positive. It seems to be spreading fast again

AdviceForJane · 30/09/2022 08:54

Thanks @Gardenlady543 and @Janefx40 , really helpful.

Gardenlady543 · 30/09/2022 08:57

Oh wow you're out early @seven201 that's great news that they found and treated something. An adhesion across the uterus definitely needed to come out.

@2021ivfagain good luck for the transfer today 🍀

seven201 · 30/09/2022 09:06

@2021ivfagain good luck for the transfer!

@Gardenlady543 yes, I'm a bit shocked. I assumed it would be small if they did find one. Glad it's out!

2021ivfagain · 30/09/2022 09:16

@seven201

Thank you. I don’t know if I should cancel.

seven201 · 30/09/2022 09:42

2021ivfagain · 30/09/2022 09:16

@seven201

Thank you. I don’t know if I should cancel.

Because of the covid in the house? I guess it depends how close you've been and can be going forward. Have you asked the clinic? They might have rules.

Personally, I'd carry on with it but I'm surrounded by germs at work, so it's a constant risk for me anyway.

2021ivfagain · 30/09/2022 09:49

@seven201

My husband is not sleeping is same room as me and my toddler and hasn’t got months during to covid fears.

2021ivfagain · 30/09/2022 09:51

@seven201

I’m worried. He is self-isolating upstairs. He has to take me to my transfer but wear a mask the whole time with windows open. It’s really bad timing.

2021ivfagain · 30/09/2022 09:52

@seven201

Thanks. As long as my lateral flow test is negative, that is fine. But it doesn’t mean I won’t get it.

MyEasterEggs · 30/09/2022 11:55

@seven201 so glad they were able to treat you and that you can now move onto the next step. Little by little 🥰

@2021ivfagain such a stressful situation to be in and I hope your transfer can proceed as planned 💛

Hope everyone else is well today. Thanks to everyone who checked in yesterday and for the kind DMs. It means a lot. My progesterone shot up, transfer went well and I’m now on the train home. Being away for the last week or so has been hard but I know it’s worth it!

seven201 · 30/09/2022 15:33

@MyEasterEggs congratulations on having the transfer!! I hope you can take it easy for a few days.

@2021ivfagain did you have the transfer in the end?

Does anyone else suffer with hair loss from hydroxychloroquine (sp)? It's a listed side effect but I was hoping it was one that eased off after a week or so, but no. I have quite a lot of hair but there's a lot coming out too, so if I have to be on this for a super long time my hair will thin I think. Annoying! So, I think given I've had two adhesions in my uterus that must mean I have ashermans. I'll ask my doctor in a couple of weeks.

seven201 · 30/09/2022 15:33

@MyEasterEggs and enjoy being home again

thislittlebird · 30/09/2022 15:50

@Janefx40 did you say you got a migraine with your daughter but it was ok? I have had one for the last 24 hours and I’m scared to test again in case that’s the end. I don’t understand why I’d get my usual timing migraine.

Janefx40 · 30/09/2022 16:04

@thislittlebird yes I got my usual menstrual migraine on the normal day and thought it meant I was out. I also got other migraines in pregnancy. Really hope it doesn't mean anything bad for you. When is your next milestone? Have they booked you in for a scan?

@2021ivfagain stressful about DHs Covid. Hope you stay clear

@seven201 glad you're out the other side. I can't believe they found something big. Hopefully that is that now tho. Rest up and recover well. I didn't take hydroxy for that long but I wouldn't worry too much. Some people get hair loss from DHEA but mine grew thicker. You just never know how you will respond.

@MyEasterEggs congrats on being PUPO.

thislittlebird · 30/09/2022 16:36

@Janefx40 they’ve booked me for a 7 week scan, which isn’t exactly reassuring when you’re so early in to it all. They also keep sending me bills because they seem to think I should pay for things and I don’t think I should pay for (confusion over 1 fresh and 2 frozen transfers funded vs 3 frozen that I’ve had because I was having some sort of anxiety and asthma attack and couldn’t breathe after my EC so didn’t go ahead with fresh). I will test again tomorrow or Sunday I guess, and hope for the best. Migraine is clearing off now, 24 hrs like clockwork.

2021ivfagain · 30/09/2022 17:00

@seven201

Transfer is booked for Sunday but husband tested positive for covid today. I have had 4 day 3 embryos thawed today. One lost a cell but overall all are good with hardly any fragmentation. Problem is I have to travel there by car as cannot afford train. Husband is self-isolating upstairs and wearing masks if he comes downstairs. It’s terrible as it’s adding to the stress but don’t want to cancel if I don’t have to.

thislittlebird · 30/09/2022 17:04

@seven201 that happened to us on our first transfer. It’s very stressful, but my clinic didn’t test and I never got it so we just avoided each other and it went ahead as planned. Hopefully you can go ahead, fingers crossed, but it was really hard and we ended up getting super stressed by the awful timing.

thislittlebird · 30/09/2022 17:04

Sorry meant to tag @2021ivfagain

Gardenlady543 · 30/09/2022 17:16

@seven201 Mr Trew told me the definition of Ashermans is pretty vague I technically had it as I had adhesions at the internal os which he removed but he said that wouldn't have affected anything with me. You had scarring removed by Lower didn't you that would have met the definition. I think the worst case scenario with Ashermans is when cases progress to the extent that people can't grow lining at all as the scarring goes really far down, these are really rare cases.

I am CD6 today period ended a few days ago but I just had some blood and a clot come out which was a bit unexpected. The surgeon had told me that I won't know what my lining is doing until the cycle after the one I'm in right now.

How is everyone doing, I have to say there is so much going on I'm sure I'm missing people off all the time. @MyEasterEggs I missed you, congrats on being PUPO.

@2021ivfagain I got a bit confused it sounds like they have thawed the day 3 embryos to culture them to day 5, I hope you stay well and the transfer goes ahead as planned on Sunday.

seven201 · 30/09/2022 17:20

@2021ivfagain I didn't realise that they thaw 3 day ones early so they're 5 day when they go in. So if all three make it to day five they put two back in the freezer?

I'd still go ahead personally. Are you not a driver yourself then? If dh does have to drive just have the windows open a bit and wear masks. I think that would be absolutely fine.

@thislittlebird it's so reassuring that janefx40 had her usual migraine, so cling on to that! How frustrating about the bills. Do you think it will get sorted ok?

@Janefx40 I was shocked it was big. Maybe it wasn't big. He showed me a photo and it seemed to go vertically through the middle of my uterus and look wide, but I can't remember if he actually said big. He didn't put in a balloon or iud like Mr Lower does, but he didn't mention that as an option before hand. They do some kind of wash thing that's meant to help though.

seven201 · 30/09/2022 17:25

@Gardenlady543 yes, I think I probably do have it. My last two periods were very light, so it makes sense that this adhesion was causing that. God I'd love a good lining next month! Yes, I did have a big adhesion, in a different place, removed by Mr Lower last September. He did also work on my c-section niche, so maybe that's where this adhesion has stemmed from. Mystery!

Weird about the clot but sounds like this cycle is expected to be not standard. I have everything crossed for your lining to be triple line and thick next month and forever more Smile

Gardenlady543 · 30/09/2022 17:37

@seven201 oh yes let's hope for nice plump lining for both of us! I'm worried in case I get adhesions from my myomectomy, my surgeon has sutured about 2cm on the inside of my uterus. I know that Trew puts gel in after surgery and Lower puts a coil in to give the uterus the best chance of healing nicely. I didn't have anything put in during this op.

2021ivfagain · 30/09/2022 18:33

@Gardenlady543@seven201

Yes they froze at day 3 as I have been batching and was going to PGS test but decided that as I won’t get many blastocysts I would just take my chances. However, batching was still set up this way.

I didn’t do a fresh transfer last month as I was worried about my infection! I’ve really been focused on probiotics! This month my husband has covid! I’ve been told that 30-40% will become blastocysts but it might be less or lower. I could end up with 1, 2, more or nothing.

Unfortunately, I don’t drive and can’t afford the train journey. Also from Plymouth they are often delayed as was the case when I used to get them! My husband is living upstairs. It’s terrible.
