Hi all, here is some background:
2012: got married
2014: tried first time got pregnant first try but miscarried at 8 weeks.
This led to irregular periods and visit to gp but
2015: got pregnant had a textbook pregnancy (i found out i was pregnant when i was 8 weeks as i didnt expect it to happen and just took a test)
2018- present: 6 cycles of clomid no success,
2021: iui 1 cycle no success.
2021/2022: ivf round 1: 2 embryos neither took so a fresh cycle failed and a frozen. bloods taken and put on auto immune protocol.
february : 4 embryos fresh embryo transfer was successful
June 2022: sadly tfmr at 18 weeks due to a list of abnormalities and told not compatible with life.

we have 3 frozen embryos and i am hoping to transfer in September . What are the chances of it working out?
my husband wants to try naturally until then ( once my bleeding from tfmr stops which give us July and August) and i agree itd be amazing to get pregnant naturally.
I have all sorts of negative thoughts that i try and block out such as the transfer wont work or i wont ever get pregnant again. Or il end up with another tfmr. Has anyone gone through anything similar??

Am I right in saying 2015 pregnancy was successful?

If you don't mind me asking how old are you?

You are still young in fertility terms and the fact that you’ve been pregnant three times and carried one of those pregnancies to term is very positive. The TFMR sounds like very bad luck. My heart goes out to you. What are your doctors saying? Sounds like PGT might be worth considering for you so that you can screen embryos and hopefully avoid the heartache of further failed transfers/miscarriage/chromosomal abnormalities?

thank you for replying. I had my son when i was 25. We have been trying since i turned 28. But we tried naturally for two years before i seeked help. I was told i had too many follicles which prevented regular/ or any ovulation.
my ivf consultant has said once it is confirmed it is chromosomal abnormalities ( he thinks this is most likely) then its not worth doing pg testing. He said its only worth doing that if it was down to genetic abnormalities. At the same time ive read of women getting pgt testing done but still resulting in tfmr. I have 3 frozen embryos and the thought of them thawing and then freezing again makes me really anxious. Its a shame with ivf it really limits trying naturally due to taking the pill. Do you think its possible my body might ‘jump start’ i was on auto immune protocol. So i had predisolene,’blood thinner inhixa and a lot of progesterone all three were taken until 12 weeks of pregnancy. My bloods were fine when i had
them done at 8 weeks ( iron vitamin d etc) i had been taking seven seas and vitamin d for almost a year by then. Im still taking them.

My hospital consultant put it down to a case of triploidy but nothing is confirmed until i get the final report. At week 12 they detected ‘abnormalities’ such as a cyst where the stomach is and issues with spine but i was told still too small to confirm anything and to come back at 17 weeks and thats when my world came crashing down. The placenta was huge squashing the baby in to one corner.this resulted in a bent leg. There was no amniotic fluid at all for them to even see the internal organs. I had not leaked any so they said most likely there are no kidneys or they arent functioning and possibly no bladder. When baby was born he looked normal but his leg and back seemed slightly twisted. Im assuming the cyst at week 12 had something to do with no development of kidneys. I read how weeks 12-16 was crucial for the development of these organs and placenta but it was shocking how in week 12 placenta was normal and amniotic fluid was fine. Based on everything ive read it does link to rriploidy/ potter syndrome. When i was told at 17 weeks i noticed how until week 18 my stomach ‘deflated’ it was no longer hard and this was due to no amniotic fluid. When bany was born it came out all in one go in the sac with the whole placenta attached. I asked the midwife was there any
fluid in sac and she said sadly no.

Hi OP? Was there any change since your last post?

Wow I saw an update for this thread and I cant believe I wrote this in 2022! I had a successful transfer in November 2022 and had my baby boy in August 2023. He turned one last month .
I always see people not coming back to update but I hope mine can help someone in some way.

my transfer was delayed in October as my lining didnt build up thick enough so although i was disappointed I transferred the following month. I made sure i ate a lot more protein and took my vitamin d.

I am so so sorry to hear that. It’s a terrible time filled with so many what ifs and it can feel so lonely. Try to look ahead and it will get easier over time.
