Progesterone injections in a heatwave

Has anyone got any experience of what to do with progesterone oil injections in a heatwave?

It’s 42 degrees here this week and I have been prescribed extra progesterone for a FET. I was using Cuclogest pessaries which started to melt in the heat, so I put them in the fridge. Then today I was told that the Cyclogest isn’t working well enough and I needed Prolutex injections as well. So I started freaking out that putting the Cyclogeat in the fridge had lowered the efficiency.

And then in the pharmacy they said to keep the injections between 15-25 degrees, which I explained would be totally impossible as the ambient temperature even with the air conditioner on full is around 32 in my house at the moment. They basically shrugged.

So then I called the clinic nurse and she said to just pop them in the door of the fridge and I couldn’t have damaged the Cyclogest by refrigerating it and not to take it back out of the fridge as that would damage it.

But then I opened the package of the oil injections and it actually says on the instructions DO NOT REFRIGERATE, do not store over 25 degrees.

So now I am freaking out again. Anyone know what to do!

Ok, I am going to answer this myself in case anyone ever looks this up in future like I did yesterday and wants an answer. I have consulted doctors and they say that if necessary, keeping it in a fridge at a temperature of around 7 degrees isn’t ideal but won’t do anything terrible to my meds.

So there we are.

Yes, I freaked out a bit but my doctors were very reassuring. The most important thing they said is to take the injections out before you need them and let the liquid warm up in the outside temperature again before injecting it, or it will sting.

After the first box of injections was finished, for the next lot I bought a little cooler box, a Bluetooth thermometer and some freezer packs and now I can monitor the temperature inside the box from my phone and change out the freezer packs when the cooler box gets too warm.

Thank you for the update. I have progesterone in oil injections too. I keep them in a cool bag (without ice packs) in a bedroom cupboard that I've assumed is a little cooler than the rest of the house. I'm in the uk though, so not as hot.
