NHS funded treatment and BMI

Hi

Has anyone had NHS funded treated and the males BMI needs to be under 30?

I've got an appointment with Guys hospital in a couple of weeks. We will find out if we qualify for NHS funded treatment. When I was booked in, the person on the phone said both of our BMIs need to be under 30.

On my CCG funding criteria it only specifies the female BMI needs to be under 30 (which is fine, mine is 29.8 and I'm losing weight slowly).

But DP is 30.5 and really struggling to lose weight despite a healthy diet and exercising regularly throughout the week. He's trying so hard and getting disheartened that the weight is not coming off. He's on a medication which I don't think helps his weight.
Just worried we won't qualify 😬

They’ve never weighed my hubby - everything was just my bmi. I think I’d query what they’re saying if it’s not in CCG policy.

i think I’ve read somewhere that male bmi should be under 35 but can’t remember where I read that to be honest. I’ve read a lot!

My clinic asked for my husband's weight at our initial appointment (his BMI is over 30) but then it was never mentioned again. They never weighed him themselves.

Thank you @Lauralozzle & @ivf2022 I plan to challenge, if it's not in the criteria. The person I spoke to didn't seem very confident and and felt awkward telling me he needed to lose weight, so hopefully she's just got it wrong!
