Endometrial Receptivity Analysis - is it worth it??

I have recently turned 40 and started IVF about 6 months ago

I have now had 3 unsuccessful transfers (1 fresh, 2 frozen) all were really good embryos (apparently)

I just had a follow up and they are suggesting an ERA….. has anyone had one of these? Did it help and make the difference?

It feels frustrating to do a whole cycle with no transfer but at the same time I don’t want to use my last embryo or go back through stims for nothing if there is an underlying issue….. has anyone had any experience??

Thanks

I'm in different circumstances to you. But my first fresh transfer I bled heavily and then had a chemical pregnancy. It was late implantation. I have immune issues whuch cause recurrent losses and was already had an extensive protocol. So I did the era with the Emma and Alice tests before my FET. It turned out I needed exactly 120 hours of progesterone and my fresh cycle I'd only had 108 hours. My FET was successful. Sadly I did lose that baby later in the pregnancy. But having done the tests. It gave me confidence and timing everything exactly helped me feel abit more in control.

Good luck.

I had an era after a "top grade" embryo failed to implant. I can't say it absolutely did work but the results for me showed I needed to add 12 hours to the transfer window. Having implemented that on my next transfer, that transfer was a success.

Sorry hit post too soon. It was expensive and delayed the process, but I took the view that I didn't want to feel like we had wasted any embryos (we had pgs tested the embryos we had).

If you're going to do it I'd do the Emma and Alice tests at the same time. Mine showed I needed an extra 24 hrs of progesterone, that I had a low level of good bacteria (treated with probiotics) in my uterus and no infections. If you have the money and want to cover all bases I'd see someone for a saline sonogram and get some immune testing done. I had a saline sonogram done and it was discovered I had a big adhesion acting like a natural coil - I'd had 4 transfers by then that had pretty much no chance of implanting - since fixed by surgery. I also since had immune testing (as had 2 natural miscarriages) and am now on intralipids, steroids and some other bits (my ivf clinic previously refused me steroids). My point is if you feel you're running low on time and have the money maybe go all out and try and cover all bases. I'm 4 1/2 years in and hoping that we're finally getting there!

Thanks for your responses ladies

I am so sorry about your loss @VenusStarr. Keeping everything crossed that the next transfer works for you. it’s such a tough journey isn’t it.

@lovingtheheat that is how I feel too. I haven’t tested the embryos, they said with one left they dont recommend. Trouble is trying to decide where your money is best spent isn’t it?! Ultimately they don’t know what it isn’t working either. They say I am a good case for IVF but you just can’t predict.

@seven201 I have booked in for the EndomeTrio (which actually turns out includes the Alice and Emma) so we will see what it says and try naturally this cycle in the meantime.

Really hope you all get there too. Was so hoping to at least be pregnant by Christmas 2022….. but time just ticks on and still so few answers. Hopefully this will shed some light?! x
