1 hydrosalpinx tube and 1 partially open but very narrow

I just had a HSG today and feeling defeated, low, and just plain rubbish. Not to mention my stomach is sore.

They told me I have one hydrosalpinx tube and the other the dye did run through but it's narrow. So my gynaecologist said I should have surgery to remove the hydro tube and there is still a chance to concieve with the other that is narrow but they may have to cannualise it to make it bigger to aid in concieving naturally. She also said after the hsg it can widen itself as in the end all the dye did spill out.

Anyone had a similar experience and gone on to concieving naturally?

Thanks for any replies.

I also have never had an STD, so can only see this have happening from the infection after my csection 7 years ago when I had my twins.

Hi @Sunshine4you

No advice for you unfortunately. I have seen my gyno today regarding my endometriosis and he has mentioned me having fluid in one of my Fallopian tubes. After much googling I've came to this too so I'm also watching for any advice! I've just started ttc my first and feeling devastated. X

Unfortunately it's really common after c sections - I lost both tubes to ectopics within 18 months of my c section (I did go on to have twins via IVF)

I guess it depends if you can afford IVF or not - if you can then I'd just get both tubes removed - most women I know who had any "work" done on their tubes went on to have ectopics - just widening it isn't going to make much of a difference as if the tiny hair like muscles inside are damaged/just don't work then they can't push an egg through it no matter the size of the tube

I was found to have a blocked tube and a partially blocked tube and went on to have successful IVF. They said when they investigated via laparoscopy that there was no scarring and therefore not from an infection. They couldn’t say why it was blocked
