My partners sperms results came back with 0% morphology.. Does this mean we have no chance of conception? 😞

Hi, so sorry to hear. What about volume and motility? Are they high?

busybee345 · 10/03/2022 15:10

Hey OP,

I'm in the same boat as you. Just diagnosed a few weeks ago. We were advised to get on Impryl which we have done and also cut out alcohol and change diet as I understand that it all can help.

Hope you're ok xx

tomato93 · 10/03/2022 16:37

Volume was 3.5ml and motility was 62%.

Im OK, just sad and concerned as I have issues too ☹️

We will look at getting impryl, we both drink about once a week but more than happy to give it up completely if needed!

@tinkerbell098 do those numbers seem OK 😞

@tomato93 both are great as normal motility is 32% and volume is 1.5ml. I've heard that if both of those are good, that can counteract low morphology, but not sure what 0% would mean though. Has your OH been referred to a urologist? There might be a specific reason for 0 morphology which could potentially be fixed.

@tomato93 the most important is the sperm concentration per ml - what was that? 0% doesn't mean no chance, but it will take longer for sure. Morphology is the 'least' important element of a sperm result, but with a high count, could be okay. When the test is done, they only look at a sample of the sperm provided so some 'normal' ones may have been missed. My advice is research Impryl and Proxeed - my OH is taking Proxeed. He should start ASAP because it will take a good few months to take affect. Tighten up on lifestyle factors like no right boxers, no hot baths, limited coffee etc. I have found the NHS pretty unhelpful for improving/investigating MFI. They haven't offered anything at all. No referral, no checks or examinations... we are going privately to a urologist for an examination and testing.

We have been referred for IVF due to MFI so whilst the NHS haven't made any decisions to investigate they are happy to move us straight to IVF. It's all happened v quickly and if we wanted to, we could start next month.

My OH has a second SA in a few weeks to see if there has been any improvements x

FlyOnTheWall89 · 22/03/2022 21:16

@tomato93 7 weeks of Proxeed and lifestyle changes and my OH second SA IS BACK. Morphology has gone from 0% to 9%. Better than we had hoped. Other parameters haven't changed x

This is amazing!

What does this mean for you now?

Xx

FlyOnTheWall89 · 23/03/2022 08:54

@busybee345 so concentration is still low, and total count is borderline so I think the advice will still be IVF unless we are prepared to just continue trying for an unknown amount of time. We are seeing a urologist so he might be able to explain why concentration is low and give us some advice. X

Thanks guys. Can/ should tou take impryl and proxeed together? I am going to take impryl. I have an hcg next week to check my tubes. His conce trtion was 11.7X10 which I believe is low 🥺

@tomato93 I've seen some threads where people were recommended alternate days.

Do you mean 11.7 per ml? If so, yes that is low but not completely terrible I guess. But you'd be recommended for IVF.
