Good morning everyone I am due to start ivf one of 3 cycles next week I have so far been upbeat about it but last few days I'm starting to wobble and think it's going to not work. I need to snap myself out of it .... I have severe endometriosis and that's playing on my mind can anyone suggest anything to help with the wobbly feeling I have please many thanks in advance

Hi @Pinklady81 I understand the feeling. I think in the end we get through it because we have to- doing nothing feels worse than doing something, even if ultimately it doesn't work out.
Things that have helped me are just trying to focus on one step at a time, each injection, each scan, and not looking too far ahead. Although I also like to think of each round as progress, so when starting the first round I thought about how if that round didn't work, it would at least give us information that could be used in subsequent rounds to tweak the protocol or whatever. Also visiting forums like this and knowing I'm not alone
Things that don't help me is obsessive googling of ivf stats throughout the process ( but I find it difficult not to), setting targets I really have no control over like 'I want to get x number of eggs/blastocysts etc' or 'I want to be pregnant before my next birthday' and comparing my results with other peoples
Good luck - really hope that you feel better once you get going and that you ultimately have success🤞

@Pinklady81

Hey
Do not stress and panic. It will do your body no good. We had our first cycle a month after my 40th. First was unsuccessful, but they do say the first one is an experiment to see how you respond to the medication. We started our 2nd in January and OTD us tomorrow. So don't give up. If you have a good clinic trust them. You can do this. Think of the amazing outcome. Be it after the first or third cycle.

Good luck
X

@Pinklady81 I'm feeling you! I am starting too and I just decided to change my "focus" and my "goals". I keep saying to myself "relax the first couple of times is just to learn my body and see how I react to the IVF meds".

Pinklady81 · 28/02/2022 07:32

@IsabelHerna when do you start ? What protocol you on? Xx

@Pinklady81 I am flying on 13th of March and will be doing a fet with a fresh cycle, I''m so excited, trying to stay as calm as possible. I booked a travel package with my clinic, which includes 2 people, but I am not sure if my mum will manage to come with. My sister has offered to come for the 2 weeks with me, but she has a young child, I dont want to take her away from my lovely niece for so long. Ouf, sorry for the long post, turns out typing out my thoughts, helps me stay calm

How are you feeling now? I found planning and making lists help me a lot with the woobly feeling.

Hi @Pinklady81 have just joined and I’m also currently undergoing IVF. I’m 42 and have endometriosis too. First round got to an early blast transfer but BFN and just had transfer from 2nd round yesterday 🤞🏼. How are you getting on?

Pinklady81 · 10/11/2022 14:06

@Manc80 hello nice to hear from you

I had a recent miscarriage from natural conception so taking a break have not done any more rounds other than 1 frozen blastocyst of dubious quality

Hope everything goes to plan
