Failed FET tips and advice

Today was our test date following our first FET. This is 11 days post 5 day transfer. I was hopeful but was faced with two stark negatives on clear blue early detection and clear blue digital. Looking for any ideas on what the next steps are and when we can try again? Any advice moving forward?

How old are you? Was this your first transfer? What results did you get in your fresh cycle, have you got other embryos frozen? Have you got a diagnosis or are you unexplained?

@Questions2 so sorry about your bfn. I had my first ET in dec which turned out to be a bfn as well. Very heartbreaking. I started testing on 4dpd5t and just got obsessed with it, but it was hard to deal with. But we immediately started looking forward to our next transfer. Just started estrogen 2 days ago, so our FET couple be 2 weeks from now. I want to try my best to not test early this time around.

Did you test your embryo? Wish you all the best in your journey.

Hi @Gardenlady543 I'm 33, first transfer and we do have other embryos frozen. Didn't do a fresh cycle due to OHSS. Unexplained infertility.

Thank you @Justhopeful so sorry about your bfn, wishing you all the best for your upcoming transfer! We are the same regarding looking forward to next cycle. Just waiting to hear from the clinic. I didn't test until the date given by the clinic which made me a bit neurotic with symptom spotting!

@Questions2 the chance of an untested embryo resulting in a live birth is 1 in 3, so the best option is to just do another transfer if you have frozen embryos and no issues were raised in your FET cycle. I personally think everyone having IVF should have a saline scan or HSG before having the first transfer as ultrasounds miss a number of structural abnormalities, because this isn't standard practice in the UK people often don't explore it until several unsuccessful transfers only to find out they had wasted their embryos. So you could ask your specialist about that, otherwise just go ahead and do another transfer.

@Gardenlady543 thank you so much that's really helpful I will definitely raise with consultant before next transfer!
