We've finally been told we'll need ivf to conceive. But since 20 December I've been spotting, pretty much every day. I assume this will need to be resolved before we can begin treatment - has anyone else experienced this? If so, how long did it take to resolve, and what was the treatment? Thanks!

What has your clinic said about the spotting?
I get spotting although not constantly and nobody has said it’s a problem. My consultant put me on the contraceptive pill for 6 weeks to time my period with clinic timings to start my first IVF cycle and I’ve not had any spotting at all while being on it.

As pp said, speak to your clinic as it may not be a problem. I’m a spotter - I get it a lot. I can’t actually remember, but I likely had it during my ivf cycle and I definitely had it for the majority of my first trimester. The clinic were never bothered.

The consultant doesn't seem too bothered but I'm meeting her in a few weeks to discuss, when we have our first pre-treatment appointment with the nurse. I was quite surprised, but I'm sure she knows what she's doing! I'll report back after the appointment, just in case anyone is interested?

I just checked my BMI, and it's 35. I want to ask the consultant (we're seeing one privately at the moment) whether age or weight is more important when it comes to success rates. If we wait until June for the first frozen embryo transfer (I can't have a fresh one because of OHHS risk) I'll have lost enough to get my BMI around 31, and I will qualify for the enhanced maternity pay at work, which will leave us significantly better off. But I'll be 37 and a half then, does a few months make a big difference at my age?
