I've been TTC for just over 2 years, one MMC in Sept 2020. Took several months off in 2021 but have been trying again since August 21 with no luck. Had a scan recently which showed borderline PCOS with lots of follicles but no big cysts etc. Until then, I'd had regular periods that lasted 3 days, but my most recent period has been very strange.

I had spotting for 3 or 4 days, then a few days of slightly more normal bleeding, then a few more days of spotting. Then 4 days off, now I've been spotting again for five days. Has anyone experienced this as a one-off then gone back to a regular cycle, or is this likely to be the PCOS getting worse and a sign of things to come?

I don't really know what to do next - I'm trying not to get too stressed about it all but can't help thinking this is it - it's too late for me now and without clomid or ivf I'm not going to get pregnant again because my pcos is just going to get much worse...

I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries but not the syndrome, was that discussed with you? Have you had any symptoms at all before you were 'diagnosed?
Also, might not be relevant but I had bleeding as you've described after a covid vaccine so could it be that?

We thought we'd need IVF (and were told that by fertility doctor) due to my polycystic ovaries and my husband had issues too bit we got pregnant naturally, after trying for 18 months. Now we have a healthy, beautiful 9 month old. You can still have a positive outcome

Thanks @MissLC, my sonographer just said I had follicles but didn't diagnose me, she said I was borderline. I had my booster on approx the same day this weird cycle started, so could be the jab I guess. I'm hope so, anyway!

Thanks for the positive story, I love hearing about people who've struggled and then had a happy ending.

My PCOS actually got better after pregnancy I didn't have a period for 6 months then got pregnant had my DD then had regular cycles albeit a 6 week cycle (unmedicated) but they were very regular and got pregnant 4 more times since then the longest I had to try for was 3 months!! PCOS doesn't always get worse (1 of my pregnancies was a chemical and my 2 sons were angel babies- I have 2 healthy girls) don't lose hope!!
