@Janefx40 how is it going in A&E? I hope you are getting some answers. I'm thinking of you, especially as Friday night is never going to be a good time to be sat in hospital xx

VenusStarr · 04/03/2022 22:46

I hope you're OK @Janefx40 I'm glad you're getting checked out. I hope you have been seen and not having to wait around too long xx

Gardenlady543 · 04/03/2022 23:05

@SUMMERTIME02 completely normal fir this to happen, it's only microscopic bacteria that will stay inside you the rest of the vaginal tablet will come out.

@Janefx40 any update?

Janefx40 · 05/03/2022 01:04

Hi everyone. Sorry for silence - I didn't have any phone battery (I brought an external charger but then that ran out)!

I'm ok but don't really know anything. They've taken bloods and examined me. They can't scan me until tomorrow so they're going to discharge me and call me in the morning but first I have to wait for the blood results.

I go from wishing I hadn't bothered coming (I'm clearly not about to drop down dead) to seeing all the blood and being glad I did. This type of blood isn't normal for me. I've had chemicals before and this is different. It's just so red and thin. My period blood is thicker and isn't red for as long. And also I think of my DD and how much she needs me and then I'm glad I am being certain I'm safe.

Worst thing is that I've not eaten since lunch time! Starving.

Hopefully you are asleep.

Someone has lent me a charger now...hence the message x

@Janefx40 hope you've had something nice to eat and got some rest since. I get what you mean, especially with the long wait at the hospital but hopefully you can get some answers soon after your bloods and scan.

VenusStarr · 05/03/2022 07:17

Hi @Janefx40 I'm sorry you're still no clearer on what's happening. I hope you managed to get home for some rest. I hope you get some answers this morning and they call you soon. We're here for you ❤️

Gardenlady543 · 05/03/2022 08:08

Thinking of you @Janefx40 I hope they call you in soon

seven201 · 05/03/2022 08:12

@Janefx40 sorry, I was out last night. I think going was absolutely the right thing to do, especially as it's not your usual blood. I hope you got some rest and that you get the scan early today and some answers. Thinking of you

Janefx40 · 05/03/2022 13:56

Hi everyone. So they never called me for a scan but I called them. The Gynaecology department called me back and after a phone conversation just booked me in for a scan Monday at the EPU.

The bleeding is still happening but has slowed and my pregnancy test today was fainter. Am I mad to feel disappointed? I know logically that at 44 any random embryo is likely to be aneuploid and just cause me a miscarriage but this just felt a bit like a miracle. Obviously I knew I was bleeding heavily but you always hope a bit don't you? Plus this would have been my November baby..the one I nearly dropped Mr Shehata to have!!!

I'm ok. Just wistful not broken. Thanks ladies xxx

Definitely not mad to feel disappointed @Janefx40 ❤️ I'm glad you're going to epu on Monday, just sorry you're in this horrible limbo. Don't beat yourself up for having some hope xxx

seven201 · 05/03/2022 16:48

@Janefx40 you are absolutely not mad to be disappointed. I think everyone in your position would cling on to a bit of hope. What a few days you've had! I'm glad you're booked in for Monday.

StillTrying10000 · 05/03/2022 20:34

Oww @Janefx40 what a rollercoaster. And horrid timing being on the weekend with nothing you can do. Did they measure your HCG? I hope you are doing okay, you must be feeling all the emotions! Sending lots of hugs xxx

My scan showed 4 poxy follicles, so much money to do a harvest with so few but I'll just have to hope I get at least one eupiod embryo from it.

seven201 · 05/03/2022 20:52

@StillTrying10000 sometimes less follicles can mean better quality I think. I'm clearly no expert, but I feel like I've read that before!

VenusStarr · 05/03/2022 21:10

What protocol are you on @StillTrying10000? Is it the same protocol as you did before? How many did you get last time? Are you still planning a fresh transfer (or did I make that up?)

How are you @seven201?

Hope you're doing as well as can be expected @Janefx40

Janefx40 · 05/03/2022 21:21

@StillTrying10000 sorry your cycle has been disappointing. It could still be fine though for euploids as you say. I had 1 cycle with 12 eggs and 1 cycle with 6 eggs. I got one euploid from each! So the numbers made no difference for me.

OP posts:
StillTrying10000 · 05/03/2022 21:26

@VenusStarr yes same protocol with a fresh transfer and test and freeze the rest.
1st cycle 5 follicles 3 embryos
2nd cycle 7 follicles 1 embryo (+1 aneuploid)
3rd cycle 12 follicles 2 embryos (+2 aneuploid)
So I guess I actually got the most good embryos from the fewest number of follicles.

Yes @seven201 totally about the quality, just a shame it's my poorest response so far. I had 3 follicles when I was on super ovulation so only 4 after all the drugs I'm pumping into my body is a surprise.

Have you both been having an okay weekend with lots of distractions? x

seven201 · 05/03/2022 22:10

@VenusStarr no news my end really. How are you doing?

@StillTrying10000 that's interesting seeing the breakdown of embryos for each round. I hope this round yields some good ones.

VenusStarr · 07/03/2022 08:11

Nothing much here either @seven201 I can't believe how quickly time is passing though.

@StillTrying10000 when is your next scan? I hope you're feeling OK.

@Janefx40 I'm thinking of you today. I hope that you get on OK at epu and that you get some clarity on what's going on xx

Gardenlady543 · 07/03/2022 12:13

So my male hormone results are back and look normal but I can't focus on them as I added on thyroid function tests and my TSH is very high.

TSH 12.1 [0.27-4.2]
Free T3 [3.1-6.8]
Free thyroxine 11.4 [12-22]

My thyroid tests have always been normal, I don't have any thyroid issues, my TSH was normal in January, I don't know if it is stress or if it is because I increased up my co-enzyme A supplements since January :( I've booked in for a repeat and will speak to my Gp today.

VenusStarr · 07/03/2022 13:11

Gosh @Gardenlady543 that is very high. How do you feel in yourself? I'm glad you're speaking to the GP.
What are you taking co-enzyme A for? I don't think I've heard of it x

Gardenlady543 · 07/03/2022 13:38

@VenusStarr
My GP asked if I feel cold and I said yes but I'm always cold and my thyroid hormones have been normal before. I have not been sleeping, I am very stressed.

The GP agreed to repeat the tests on Wednesday. I don't know if I should keep up the supplements, my friend thinks I should carry on and see what the repeat shows and if it's high to lower the supplements to what I used to take. Sorry I meant Coenzyme Q10 which is for egg quality.

Janefx40 · 07/03/2022 13:42

@Gardenlady543 that is super high. I think you should re-test especially if it was normal in January. The first thing would be to check it isn't an error or an anomaly.

Just got back from scan. It looks like I have bled out nearly all the tissue as the endometrium is quite thin again with some blood and clots there. They took my Hcg and will get to lab to test my bloods from Friday night to give a comparison.

Test today was weaker so looks like it's all resolving. I'm just shattered. Took today off work but DD is back at nursery so am going to just chill this afternoon x

OP posts:
Janefx40 · 07/03/2022 13:43

@Gardenlady543 I've been on Co-enzyme Q10 for years and never had high TSH but I suppose everyone may be different. Yes I'd keep taking it until Wednesday so you get a proper comparison.

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 07/03/2022 13:51

Ah, I thought it was something different @Gardenlady543 I don't think that would have an impact on your tsh. I've been taking 200mg daily for 3 years. I'm glad you're getting it checked.

@Janefx40 I'm not surprised you're shattered. I'm sorry to hear this. Even when it's expected its still a shock. Sending lots of love ❤️
