Anyone else TTC with low sperm motility?

Hi everyone :)

I was just wondering if anyone is in the same (or similar) boat at me? We've just started trying for our second baby and I'm a mess of anxiety about going through the same problems we did when we started trying to conceive our son back in Nov 2018 :(

After trying for six months with no joy we found out my husband has low sperm motility (but an extremely high count which gives me some hope at least). The doctor told us a natural pregnancy was highly unlikely and that he was recommending us for IVF. I had a barrage of tests to prep for it including a HyCoSy on Christmas Eve 2019 and our first cycle was booked for March 16th 2020 (the day my period was due). By some miracle I found out I was pregnant on March 15th 2020 and we now have a beautiful thirteen month old son who I am so grateful for

First of all please do not feel guilty for wanting more children, and that comes from someone who is still trying for the 1st.

Have you tried asking your GP for HyCoSy? explaining to him your history and that you just want that nothing more. If not, I would go private. Just to take it out of your mind and to stop wondering "What if".

I think your fears are justified and normal. It’s hard having primary infertility, then feeling normal for a while until your mum friends begin announcing their next pregnancy and you face it all again.

How about giving yourself a time limit of trying naturally for say 3-6 months before seeking further assistance?

Also, 35/36 is not old, especially for a second child. Why would you have to stop trying at 36? I didn’t even have my first round of ICSI until I was 36. Plenty of women have babies in their late 30s and even early 40s.

Hi op, are you still on this thread?
We are in the same boat. We started trying for our little one in October 2016 and didn't end up meeting our son until summer 2020 (low sperm count and motility, icsi needed). We're now trying for number two. DH's count has rocketed into normal range (went from 4ml to 54 ml) but his motility is still awful. We were given fertility vitamins to try for 3 months and he's being retested in 2 weeks to see if they've made a difference.
We've decided to try naturally until the summer, a second round of icsi will be discussed in July/August if we haven't fallen ( which is likely going to be the case).
Be good to chat if you're still about
