Hi All

I've just moved to Sutton Coldfield
I'm 42 years old
I've an appointment soon with Birmingham Create
Has anyone been with this clinic?
Is it good for older ladies?

I've had tests done at a London clinic and apparently I have a very high egg reserve for my age (obviously they can't speak for the quality)
Partner's Semen Analysis very high too
We decided to conceive a few months ago after being together a year
Thanks

I didn't know where else to put this
We're not infertile
I wasn't sure of my Ovulation and I think we missed crucial points
Should this be on another board?

Hi there I was with create Birmingham and had twins and I really liked them. That being said if you aren't infertile and you just missed an ovulation because you aren't tracking and have only been trying a couple of months why are you pursuing IVF?

That's great, twins!
How old were you if you don't mind me asking when you went for treatment and when you finally had your kids?
Did you use your own eggs?

Because of our age
We don't have time on our side

I was 37 when I had my twins and I have 2 more top quality embryos frozen. It did take us 5 rounds and £35k so undertaking IVF isn't for the faint hearted but we had no choice after multiple losses and then lost both tubes to ectopics - I looked at a few other clinics in Birmingham like the Priory and BWH but had a better feeling about Create

Thankfully things worked out for you after all that heartbreak.

I'm 42 so a bit scared as to how successful we will be.
I pin my hopes on my high egg reserve!

Do you mind breaking down the £35k
What built up to that amount?
Thanks

I hope you don't me asking.
As you had your children via IVF were you happy to go with the NHS for delivery?
Was it a planned C-section?
Or, did you see a private consultant?
If so who and at which clinic i.e MUMS in Solihull?

Hi

I did use MUMs for reassurance scans at 10 weeks, 13 weeks and 16 weeks with the twins. I also had them do the combined screening (NHS hospital only give baby 2 chances to get the measurements otherwise not offered the full combined screening results and my twins weren't playing ball that day!), I also did the NIPT through MUMs. I found them excellent and the staff are also sonographers and consultants at the big local NHS hospitals

I had twins and had previously had a c section so only had the option of another elective c section and only at Heartlands or Womens with it being a twin pregnancy. I found the NHS care excellent and couldn't fault it really. C section became an emergency due to placental abruption so had twins on my own with no DH as no time to get him to the hospital

I think MUMs even if you pay privately for all care still use Heartlands I think - it's expensive and after dropping £35k on IVF we couldn't afford private maternity services on top

Hi guys. I’m just looking for anybody who is able to share their experience of Create Fertility in Birmingham. I’m 29 and have had my referral accepted, myself and my partner have our first appointment in just over 4 weeks and just wondering if anybody is able to set our expectations as to what will be happening at this appointment. We’re both anxious and excited (as expected) and would love any info or experiences to be shared with us. Thank you in advance x

Hi @daniellelouisexx I am at a Create clinic and think they operate generally consistently across the board. I had a scan and OH had semen analysis. The consultation was to go through any past IVF cycles which we had with another NHS clinic after which we decided to go private with Create. The initial consultation appt was around 45 mins online and we went through all our results to date and the best course of action. In our consultation Karyotype, thyroid and prolactin levels were advised to be tested which we had done, and it was advised based on results that natural modified x 3 cycles would be the best approach. We had 2 further appts with the consultant before starting treatment which was 6 weeks after the initial consultation (would have been sooner but Karyotype test reaults take up to a month to return). All in all I would say Create are quite tailored in their approach, but I would suggest being prepared to have more than 1 cycle as most IVF does requires more than 1 even if all is OK test wise
