3dp5dt and I have no symptoms this time. I can’t tell if this is a good or bad thing!

I’m 3dp5dt on transfer #4. My clinic doesn’t do betas, so I have to do an FRER 14dp5dt.

Transfer #1 was fresh and failed. I had zero symptoms really. I felt totally normal.
Transfer #2 was a chemical (VVV faint positive 5dp5dt which got a tiny bit darker for 2 days before getting lighter). I had mild cramps from 4dpt.
Transfer #3 was a chemical (waited to test until 13DPO and got a strong positive, but not as dark as control line. Didn’t get any darker the next day. Requested beta 18dpt which was 14). Some mild cramps on and off then pink discharge 9dpt. Cramps from 9dpt, but got much worse 14dpt.

Anyway, this time, I feel completely normal. I was a little crampy for the first 24 hours, then now no cramps at all really. No twinges or pains or cramps. Nothing.

I’m driving myself crazy thinking about whether this is a good or bad sign! I guess I’d view it as a good sign if I still feel normal by 9dp5dt, as that’s usually when it starts to go downhill with cramps, spotting or fainter tests.

Any thoughts? Anyone else had this?

Thanks.

You can just get beta tests privately, most private GP services will do them.

Hey guys. Just an update. Tested again today and I still have a line, but it’s much the same as 3 days ago, so I’m not too hopeful. I’m also very achy today. Going to see my family doctor today to see if they’ll do betas.

@IAmSickOfWaiting congratulations! Although the test line looks similar, the control line of your 14dpt looks lighter which is good. I know how you feel, it's very difficult to accept and believe but ultimately that is a very positive test and you are pregnant.
Hopefully you can get bloods though for reasurance, keep us updated.

TTCafterIVF · 09/12/2021 08:33

2-3 at 14dpt is a great sign Smile Congratulations!

IAmSickOfWaiting · 10/12/2021 21:11

Thanks @dogmam and @TTCafterIVF

I’m now 15dpt and have had some pretty obvious constant period cramps for the whole afternoon. It’s freaked me out because this is how my previous 2 chemicals have started. I’ve ordered more FRERs due tomorrow so will do that tomorrow or Sunday to check the line’s not getting any darker 😩 This is a nightmare and my gut is telling me something’s not right.

Just posting updates here incase anyone else is ever in the same position and stumbles across this thread.
The cramping I experienced died down after a few hours. I woke up this morning feeling totally normal again, then the mild cramping has started again this afternoon. It seems like it’s just normal pregnancy cramping though, as I got my first dye stealer today. Not testing again now and just waiting for my first scan, which is booked in for 6w1d, and I’m currently 4w6d.

Feeling still quite confused and concerned, but so far everything looks ok.

@IAmSickOfWaiting I'm so pleased for you. It is really difficult but try if you can to enjoy it, I need to take my own advice as every little twinge I freak out but your tests look great.
I didn't test for the last 3 days and was relatively calm but today I tested and I was so anxious all last night and before the test. I think I'm also going to stop testing with FRERs now as the control line is so pale and I'm past when I would have of had AF. I've got one clear blue digital left which I may do next week to hopfully see 3+ but then I'm waiting for my scan. Mine isn't until after Christmas and I'll be 7w4d so ages to wait!
Have you told anyone your news yet or are you waiting?

IAmSickOfWaiting · 13/12/2021 20:59

@dogmam

Good job not testing for the last few days, until today!! Haha. Yeah it’s so hard to not analyse every little feeling. I totally get you. Yeah definitely step away from the tests once you get your dye stealer, I think. Yeah after Christmas seems like so long to wait.

I was still really crampy yesterday so ended up at an urgent care clinic to see a doctor. They were concerned about an ectopic because the pain was mainly on my left. I was sent for a scan today at 5w2d. They saw the gestational sac, but nothing else. The nurse didn’t seem too concerned though and advised that’s not abnormal at this stage. While at the loo before the scan though, I had one instance of pink spotting when I wiped 😬 no spotting since then and I’ve had virtually no cramps today, nevermind to the extent I was having them over the last few days. She took blood for a beta and said she’d call me back today, but didn’t so I’m pacing about the house all night waiting for a call tomorrow morning. I’ve also got to go back on Wednesday for a second one to check progression.

I’ve never had a beta more than 14 as they’ve always diagnosed a chemical, so I’m very, very nervous and have a bad feeling. We will see! First proper scan/viability scan is still booked for 6w2d (1 week time), so that’ll still go ahead if these betas are fine 😩😬🤞🏻

HCG is 2,993 at 5w2d. Not amazing, but within an acceptable range. Doing another one tomorrow!

@IAmSickOfWaiting ahh bless you what a few days you've had! Can absolutely understand you would be worried after the scan but it is so so early, that's why clinics don't scan you until a little later.
That beta is great! If it's supposed to double every 48 hrs then at 9dpt it would have been over 150 which again is great. They seem to be being very thorough so fingers crossed for your bloods again tomorrow.
What made you go to urgent care? We're the cramps really painful? It's so hard to know what's normal isn't it, I've had cramps, twinges and pulls every day for the last 3 or 4 days now.

IAmSickOfWaiting · 14/12/2021 11:31

@dogmam
Yeah you’re absolutely right. It seems relatively normal to see nothing but the sac under 6 weeks. Thank you!!!
Well, I phoned NHS 24 (non-emergency help line here in the UK for out of hours) as I’d been having pretty bad cramping for about 4 days. I had both quite bad cramping on my left side (I have lots of endometriomas unfortunately, so I’m thinking it’s them responding to the hormones) and period-like cramps in my uterus. They were pretty bad and it was hard to walk around. They came and went until they eventually just didn’t go. As cramping like that was how my chemicals started, I wanted to know for sure if everything was ok. So far, it looks like it was normal for me, as it’s settled down now. I’ve had no bad cramps for 2 days. Just a mild ache every now and again!
You’re totally right. It’s so hard to know what’s normal and worry about over or underreacting. I absolutely understand. From what I understand, ‘normal’ can range from absolutely no pain or symptoms at all to quite bad cramping!
How are you doing in general? You nervous for your scan? I know it’s still a while away. Haha.

@IAmSickOfWaiting sorry ive just read your message! How are you doing? How did your bloods go yesterday? I hope it was good news.
It must have been very scary to have cramps so bad you struggled to walk but I'm pleased they seem to have died down.
Scan is just under 2 weeks, I'll be 7w4d. I feel ok, I've deffinetly been better carried away and planning for our future life but then I do have moments where I think shit, it's early days don't get carried away. It's so hard!

IAmSickOfWaiting · 16/12/2021 12:07

@dogmam
Thank you! I’m doing good thanks. How’re you? I literally just got my results back an hour ago. Very very relieved. HCG went from 2,993 at 5+2 to 5,216 yesterday at 5+4, which is within the normal range. I can’t believe my HCG hasn’t declined. I’ve never had that before, so hopefully this is the one 🤞🏻
My first proper scan is now next Tuesday instead of Monday, so 6+3.
Aww bless you. That sounds so so hard. The waiting with the unknown is just hideous. Just under 2 weeks doesn’t sound tooo bad though. I’m sure we are both very used to the waiting for this shit now though 🙄😅 It is hard to not spend your time worried and upset, but also to not be too carried away when it’s still early days! Now that we have these betas back, we are both trying to enjoy this ❤️

infact your are stronger than mine were lol x

dogmam · 18/12/2021 09:19

@IAmSickOfWaiting you must be so relieved, that's fab news! I bet Tuesday can't come quick enough for you, will that be your laat scan before you are discharged from the clinic?

I had some spotting yesterday. It was just a tiny bit but went on throughout the day. Needless to say anxiety is through the roof. I can't help thinking the worst and that all the progesterone is just holding off a full bleed. I rang the clinic and they've booked me in for a scan on Monday so just anxiously waiting for that.

IAmSickOfWaiting · 21/12/2021 16:54

@dogmam
We had our 6w3d scan. All is well! We saw the heart beat and everything is on track. Such a relief as I’ve been spotting on and off since Friday. Did find a small SCH, which is suspected to be the cause.
I absolutely understand your concern about spotting! I totally get it. If you troll these forums and others like it though, you’ll see so many people concerned about spotting and it’s actually pretty common.
Mine started as fairly heavy bleeding when I woke up on Friday morning then it settled to just pink when I wiped. It went away then the pink came back again today.
I’ve just realised you sent this a few days ago so your scan would have been today!!! How did it go? 🤞🏻❤️

OP posts:
dogmam · 22/12/2021 14:31

@IAmSickOfWaiting congratulations on yesterday's scan, that must have been amazing to see, I'm pleased it's all worked out for you. I read a lot about SCH and apparently it's very common even more so in ivf so hopfully your body will absorb it eventually, but for now it will be scary spotting. Will you be seen again by your clinic?
Unfortunately for me not good news. The spotting on Friday turned to heavier bleeding on Saturday, we rang 2 EPUs and neither of them would scan me as apparently nice guidelines state they aren't to scan under 7 weeks (I was 6w exactly), I just find this ridiculous for an early pregnancy unit and despite me being really upset on the phone and saying it was an IVF pregnancy, both units weren't having any of it so I was left to stay at home all weekend and continue to bleed. We went to the scan at the clinic on Monday, I was still spotting, and then it just went from bad to worse, the gestational sac was there but no fetal pole, this was at 6w2d. I'm absolutely devastated, I just feel completely numb. The Clinic have kept my 7w4d scan in just to double check but have confirmed I'm likley currently misscarying. I'm still spotting and feel like all the progesterone and estrogen I'm on is just delaying it, so it's just being dragged out.
Worst Christmas ever Sad

I used to hate seeing posts on here like this then not knowing the outcome!

My HPTs were positive! I’m currently 30 weeks pregnant from that transfer ❤️
