Trying to conceive with PCOS

Hello All,
After some advice please. Came of the pill in January 2021, after deciding to try and conceive after first child. In a round about way, I was finally diagnosed with PCOS, and prescript metformin by gyn dr, in September. Successful, I had my first natural period on the 9th October. I have also being taking inositol from my protein. I have been a bit stress the last few weeks, with an upcoming exam and a sick grandparent, so haven't been eating week or exercising. My BMI is within the normal range, and a pregnancy test is negative. Any personal experiences on what worked for you would be appreciated. I don't think others realize how frustrating this really is!

My BMI is too high and I find exercise and a few pounds off brings on ovulation and then my period. it's more difficult in a way when your weight is fine. I also take Myo inositol powder twice a day, 4g in total. Not sure how much you take but this makes a huge difference to meet. My period goes missing when I run out.
Stress can delay anyone's ovulation and with PCOS you can be more susceptible to the effects of stress hormones. A suddenly change in diet could be causing a problem too.
I think if I were you I'd try:
Getting enough sleep
15-30minutes calming meditation/deep breathing a day to relax you
A bit of exercise everyday

PCOS is so individual in how we react to it.
Absolutely pisses me off. Am I pregnant/did I ovulate/have I missed my TTC window this cycle/will I ever ovulate again 😴

I have just been diagnosed with PCOS today. It's an absolute minefield!

I got diagnosed with PCOS back in March of this year. My periods became normal when I first came off pill after 10 years then all of a sudden they disappeared (for 117 days to be exact). My fertility consultant at the local NHS hospital prescribed me metformin 500mg 3 times a day and it brought my periods back, I ovulate every month, my ovaries has been scanned since and I don't have any cysts / ovarian volume higher than normal range at the moment 🤞🏻

Currently waiting for IVF ICSI though as we have male factor infertility also

Hi there, I've been diagnosed with PCOS too.

Firstly, try ovulation sticks. Since you've got PCOS, I would say get an app, and track your cycles +temp, and dtd when the time is right.

Also, the book "It all starts with an egg" will surely help you out on planning and understanding the whole journey a bit better.

Good luck x

@WeightlossKin I am also trying to loose weight to bring on my period. Have been ttc for a year, but now believe with cycles all over the place, I actually haven’t been ovulating! I’ve had 4 periods in the year, but it’s cycle day 77 and still no period! It’s so hard isn’t it! I’m trying to loose some weight in hope that it’ll help!

Hi @Peonies94 we've got a little chat group you're welcome to join - I see you've posted about IVF and weight loss so I'll pop the link below 😊 hopefully it'll be busier as the new year gets going!
Weight loss seems to have not really helped my PCOS as it got better then got worse! I've had 9 periods this year. Currently on CD41 and my period is about to start. PCOS is so individual and such a nightmare. Weight loss and gentle exercise is a good place to start!
