Hi Lovely ladies I was told taking coq10 helps with low AMH levels. After some research I came across these
Are they pretty much the same?
When I read the vita it talks about the supplement helps older people to get energy not sure how it can help with low AMH levels Lol 🤷🏻‍♀️
I need some recommendations and your experiences!

I live in uk nothing to pricey and preferably supplements from pharmacy or Holland and Barrett. Thank you in advance x

Hi there,
I use Ubiquinol from Jarrow's (it is a superior and a better absorbed form of Cq10). It was recommended by my doctor to improve egg quality ( I am 38). I had better results after taking it for about 3 or 4 months.
I am not from the UK, so I am not sure whether you can find it in the pharmacies around you. Also, it is a bit expensive, but I recommend buying a good brand. Check online also, you can get better offers.

Ived used that coenzyme (in the red) but the 200mg dosage. H&B also sell 100mg ubiquinol which is the same but more readily absorbed. My understanding is that it doesn't improve AMH but helps egg quality.

I took these and took 600 dosage so two tablets a day under advice of my clinic
The dosage not the actual vitamins- there are just the ones I researched as I thought the price was good

£13 ish a bottle
When buying 3 bottles

Plus 10% off new customers - got to love a deal

Also my dr prescribed me AMH which is worth asking as that's meant for low AMH

There is an amazing, evidence based book called "It starts with the egg"... Talks a lot about supplements to help egg quality 🙂

I am only 31 but have low AMH and high FSH so premature ovarian insufficiency but I am getting some hope from having some way of improving our chances thanks to the suggestions in that book 🙂

You're better off taking ubiquinol as it is absorbed better. You can't improve AMH levels/ovarian reserve, although it will naturally fluctuate a bit so some test results may be better than others. Theoretically ubiquinol is supposed to help existing egg quality but evidence is pretty limited. The other claims in 'It starts with the egg' are similarly poorly backed up by studies despite the author claiming otherwise. The studies/evidence quoted are mostly small scale, low quality and findings not sufficiently substantiated for them to be recommended (hence why most Consultants will roll their eyes when you mention that book).

Honestly, I wouldn't waste your money on tons of supplements. Likelihood is if you do get pregnant it's not going to be anything to do with them. Make sure you have a healthy diet, reduce (or stop) alcohol and caffeine intake (there is marginally better evidence for the negative effect of these). And if your BMI isn't in normal range try to lose or gain weight as requires. Regular exercise, no smoking, all the usual 'healthy lifestyle' advice.

Very best of luck from a fellow low-AMH er 🤞
