Help- Menopur and Gonal injections question!
I am very sorry if this is not in the right topic but I am very very anxious this evening. On Monday, I started injections for egg stimulation in order to freeze my eggs. I'm single and haven't told my family about this so I already feel very alone and I have been so anxious about it. I arranged for a nurse to come to my apartment in the evenings, for however long it takes, to inject me with the treatments, which are Gonal and Menopur. A nurse came on Monday evening, then her colleague came yesterday evening, and the same colleague again this evening- except that when she opened the box of Menopur this evening, she suddenly realised there were two more bottles of powder than there are bottles of liquid. I had taken down the rubbish to the central trash just a few minutes before, so I went down to get the rubbish which contained the previous evenings syringes, medical waste, etc, to verify what had happened. It turns out that neither of the nurses had injected me with Menopur powder on either of the two previous evenings. Menopur is, of course, a solution of powder and liquid which should be mixed together.
The nurse was very apologetic and there is nothing that could be done about it now- the guidelines are very clear that you should not inject a double dose of Menopur to make up for a mixed or forgotten dose - but I am absolutely distraught. The very fact that I was so scared of messing up or doing something wrong and so I arranged and am paying a special evening fee to have nurses come round and inject me with the hormonal treatment! I can't believe it. Can anyone tell me if this is a big deal?
My next ultrasound is on Friday.
