Advice on recurrent miscarriages - when and where to get investigated?

Hi all
I'm looking for advice on when I should and where to get help on recurrent miscarriage?
I have a 6 year old who I was extremely lucky to conceive straight away age 29. I'm now nearly 37 and have been trying for number 2 for over a year.
I had a chemical pregnancy in April and realised my short (10 day) luteal was perhaps the reason I wasn't conceiving. Started progesterone supplements on my next cycle and conceived straight away in May.
I had 2 scans at 6 & 7.5 weeks pregnant and saw the heart beat and baby was doing well. I had another scan at 11 weeks and there was no heart beat. As it was a MMC I had to have surgery.
We started trying again this month and conceived straight away again but I've just had another chemical pregnancy. The progesterone supplements have extended my luteal phase to normal so that wasn't the issue this time.
3 losses in row is just so hard to deal with. I'm now thinking surely it can't be bad luck?
My NHS gynae team don't seem that worried and basically just want us to carry on. I've been given aspirin and clexanne injections to start once I conceive properly again but I'm now questioning whether there's something more going on?!
I feel like the gynae team don't think a chemical pregnancy counts in terms of investigation and so I'm left just feeling completely confused what's going on and what I should do.
At what point do I start looking into investigations? Do I pay privately now?
Should I be going down the ivf route instead given my age?
I just don't know what to do.
Any advice would really be appreciated
Thanks xx

Hi there, I’m sorry for your losses. I had 4 losses in a row, chemical and 3 mmc all week 8-9. I always assumed it was age ( was 38) and I fell pregnant every few months so kept battling on.
I then decided to do ivf as thought it might be chromosome issues and to get a pgs normal embryo. I decided to do another round after that but due to mad circumstances it ended up a fresh transfer and now in third trimester.
The only difference is I did immune treatments with dr Gorgy. My tests showed I had high killer cells and low antibodies to protect the pregnancy so been on lots of drugs, aspirin, clexane , prednisone, IVIG, intralipids, progesterone, LIT. Lots!
I started with basic tests first though to rule other more common issues out , have you had those? Full blood count - thyroid, iron , vitamin D. Anti phospholipid tests etc
to test for clotting issues. Ultrasound of your womb and perhaps a more surgical investigation of it - hystereoscopy or the like.
What about your partner’s sperm , has he been tested? Half of fertility issues can lie there.
PM me if you want any more information Daffodil

I am sorry for your losses. I would say, try to see a fertility specialist, and have more tests both you and your partner. Good luck :)

@Hulahoopla and @IsabelHerna Thankyou both for taking the time to reply. I'm so sorry @Hulahoopla for all of your losses. That must of been heartbreaking. I'm so pleased you've finally managed to get there in the end.

I've had all the fertility tests you can get on the NHS so I've had a Hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, HyCoSy, I've had all my hormone bloods checked including thyroid and vitamin D. Partners sperm analysis fine too.

I've been told the chemical pregnancies don't count and in the eyes of the nhs I'll only be referred for recurrent miscarriage testing once I've had 2 more losses (that aren't chemical). I therefore know if I want to get checked it's going to have to be privately. Im wondering whether I should look into clotting tests and immune testing? Is that something that can be an issue in a second pregnancy but not with my first?

@Hulahoopla - how do I private message you - it would be great to find out a bit more info but I can't work out how to send a private message?! x
