Consultation after miscarriage - what questions?

Hoping to find others with a similar experience, or some knowledge on what ask.
Same sex couple so using donor sperm. Own egg cycles didn’t have a great outcome, 2 cycles resulting in one blast only for transfer which was bfn.
We changed donor, and based on own egg numbers / quality also decided to use egg donor.
We got 2 blasts, one day 5 and one day 6. Day 5 was transferred, day 6 frozen.
Day 5 resulted in a nice strong bfp, but started bleeding at 6 weeks and at 7 weeks MMC was confirmed.
We’re now awaiting follow up with the clinic. The frozen embryo we have will be the last as we can’t afford further cycles.
What tests or medications would you recommend discussing with the consultant before arranging a transfer? We’ve only had one not implant, and one miscarriage, which doesn’t put us in the ‘recurrent’ bracket - but as we only have one possible chance left, if there are any addressable issues like clotting etc we’d rather know…

How old are you? With one mc it’s more likely to be a chromosome issue but appreciate you want to rule everything out. I had multiple mmc and tested most of the below list. All came back normal.
The full blood count, including thyroid and vitamin D can be done by your GP to save money. The others are done by prof Quenby at the recurrent mc clinic but you’ll probably need to go private as you normally need 3 mcs in a row unfortunately.
I would also look at a full check of your womb, I’m planning a hystereoscopy before my next FET. There are other types of investigations which don’t involve sedation though so would check with your ivf clinic.
I’m sorry for your loss but it did implant which is a good sign as sometimes women can’t get past that Initial hurdle, which is really challenging then.
There are other things like Alice, Emma checks too
Plus ERA is you want to get timing right for FET implantation.
I would talk to your clinic about what they suggest. Good luck !

Full blood count

-Vitamin D

-Coeliac

-Lupus anticoagulant

-Anticardiolipin antibodies

-HbA1c

-Prothrombin Gene Mutation

-TSH, Free T3 and T4

-Thrombophilia screen

Btw my issue ended up being immunes related( body attacked foreign embryo) it’s expensive to test for that and I only did it after multiple unexplained losses. So not sure you’d want to go that avenue yet

Thank you very much, that’s incredibly helpful. I’m 42, but we’re using donor eggs so she should be less relevant than ‘normal’. We are definitely trying to see the positive in that at least we had implantation.
Some tests I’ve already had as part of the initial (thyroid, fbc), and I’ve also had the prothrombin gene test - which I wasn’t aware of, so thank you so much for mentioning (it was part of one of those 23 and me type panels, though not that one).

It sounds like what we were thinking - check clotting issues, and immunes might be one step too far, plus I don’t think my clinic will treat that at the moment anyway due to covid.
All the best for you and sorry for your losses.

I would let the clinic know that they NEED to do their best this time around, and do all the extra tests. I don't understand why they don't do all the tests in the 1st place? Why do we have to go through to much pain in order to get to the "recurring" stage (and get more tests done?) sorry about my vent, I had to push my circle due to a new health issue they just found out! I've been going to an endocrinologist for 2 years checking and doing tests, and he didn't give me this test because apparently it wasn't the time yet. In any case, sending you all the best wishes and baby dust to you!💜💜💜
