I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to post but I'm feeling so down. I have been TTC for almost 3 years (I have had a MMC and ectopic pregnancy in that 3 years). My periods are VERY irregular and I (think) I have PCOS (I have the symptoms and a private scan showed ovaries to be poly cystic but normal uterus) but hormonal bloods normal. My question is what is my next step? I have tried natural remedies but they aren't working for me and every time I've seen my GP about this they dismiss me as I've gotten pregnant before. I really am feeling hopeless at the moment. My period is almost 2 weeks late and I have positive OPKS for over 2 weeks straight this month so certain I haven't ovulated (pregnancy tests BFN). I am worried that the doctors won't help me- has anyone else been in this position or have any advice? TIA x

Didn’t want to read and run - sending you hugs!
I haven’t been in quite the same position but my periods didn’t come back after I came off the pill - I think I had one in the space of about 8 months. Scans showed my ovaries were polycystic but like you, my bloods were normal. However I wasn’t ovulating with any regularity at all. I was prescribed Clomid to help me ovulate - first on 50mg for three months, which wasn’t successful in making me ovulate, and then 100mg. This did make me ovulate and I did fall pregnant - my little girl is just coming up three months old now.
If you aren’t ovulating, there are certainly things that the doctors can help with so I would go and chat with them and see where that takes you. It’s not good enough that they aren’t taking you seriously and if you are sure you aren’t ovulating, they shouldn’t be dismissing you.
Best of luck x

What hormone levels were looked at and on which cycle days?. I ask only as tests done on the wrong cycle days can give meaningless results.

I would stop using the OPK's; they are not working for you and are likely also making you feel worse. They are certainly not recommended for use if the cycle is irregular.

If your GP is unhelpful try and see another within the practice or change GP practice. It is no point at all seeing a doctor who is not being helpful to you.

You need a diagnosis first and foremost and you need to see a gynae at a subfertility unit. Both of you should be tested further in any event.

BTW a "normal" uterus is often seen with PCOS: its the cystic follicles on the ovaries that are causing the subfertility.

Oh dear, I am sorry! In your position, I would pressure the gp to refer me to a fertility clinic and/or to an endocrinologist, and then I would also change gp! I am sorry, but I need understanding and respect from my doctors so I take it too seriously. In any case, let them know that many people around the world experience secondary infertility, and that you got pregnant without assistance in the past, does not mean you do not help and tests in the presence. Good luck dear!

Sorry for your loss. I was ttc DC2 with natural remedies, changing lifestyle, thermometers and ovulation sticks, but nothing worked for me (for years), and after a long period of denial, I am now on my IVF journey. Like pp said, go to the doctor and if you feel they do not hear you, change them.
