Hi, I’m really struggling to decide what’s best right now, we’ve been trying for 3 years and finally got the balls to go to the doctors they did day 1 and day 21 bloods and was all normal and did sa on other half and was 1% morphology, we have got referred to the nhs clinic and have first appointment in couple months but because my partner already has a child from another relationship I don’t think we’re get it on the nhs and I don’t know weather it will be wasting my time when I can go straight to private any advice would be very helpful

No unfortunately you won't be eligible on the NHS - private will be much quicker x

Yeah this is what I’m thinking, I don’t want waste anymore time, it’s so frustrating because his daughter is nearly 18 so he had her that long ago and then because of that we can’t get it on the nhs

If they hadn't found anything yet, I'd say see if you can get further tests on the NHS. But if you already know you'll probably need IVF/ICSI (which you definitely won't get on the NHS) you might as well go private. Sucks that it will cost you but it will be quicker.

Yeah I was thinking do I stay and get the tests on there and then go private but then that’s wasting time if I can get it done earlier, I think I’m heading towards private I always knew we wouldn’t get it on the nhs just wasn’t 100% sure till now as I also found it online too the guidelines. Yeah sucks have to pay but if that’s what I got to do I’m willing to do it x

Please do check with your own CCG as I know several who will provide NHS IVF as long as one of the partners is childless, in my area 3 cycles are funded even if the female partner has children as long as the male partner doesn't

I was postponing going to the doctor for many years too, and I was made to feel like I was the only one. 😅

I wouldn't cancel the appointment tbh, just start researching other options at the same time and the possibility of finding funding or if the NHS will fund you. Just the research and the getting up to speed takes a lot time trust me.

Good luck with your journey!
