Pcos/clomid advice 2021

Good morning all

I really need some advice for anyone who has taken clomid recently or also had pcos and can help advise me.

Basically I have pcos (polystic ovaries syndrome) I ovulate . ... well ibhave a period every 5 or 6 weeks sometimes longer. I've been told previously my eggs don't grow mature enough to fertilise.( I hate when they say this to me ... I sound like a chicken !!)
So previously I've been in clomid and conceive within first few cycles.

I've been back to see a gyno who states she can't give me clomid now ( I'm uk) and has to be a fertility docter so I've been put on a waiting list .2 years plus !!!! I really cant wait that long. I'm in my 30s times running out.

Previously I purchased clomid online without a prescription ( I'm UK) I can't seem to access it now and belive me I've gone so far as to search everywhere.

Is there anywhere in UK I can get this from ?
Has anyone been given an alternative to help stimulate the ovaries? Has it worked ?
I'm really desperate to have another baby I've been trying 2 years and docter wants me to wait another 2 to 3.
It's a little frustrating putting my happiness in someone else's hand. I know my problem , I know it can be fixed and I know what tablets can help but yet I have to wait years for someone to prescribe me these tablets sad it really does suck !!.
Any help advise appreciated please

Hi @Lora2021 I had to be referred to a gynaecologist by my doctor before they gave me clomid which took a few months i would go private if you would like clomid straight away I’m not too sure of the costs but worth looking into at a private clinic if you don’t want wait xxx

If you can afford it I would recommend going to a private clinic, as the previous poster said, and ask for an induced ovulation cycle. I’m doing that now, but I’m on Letrozole rather than clomid. That way you’ll be properly monitored and given appropriate care for your medical history.

I'm not sure I can afford private . I'm UK so most of time it's been through NHS. I suppose I could query a few places to see how much this might cost me.

I just dont understand how it's all changed . 10 years ago I receive it from a fertility specialist. Then 2 years later when I wanted to try again. My docter was going to prescribe it . He did but unfortunately me and my partner unexpectedly split so I handed the pills back to the pharmacy.

Thankyou

It's shamefully to say I was never monitored before .
I live in Birmingham in UK. The hospitals here are meant to be high quality and really good in this town.
Possibly why there is a long wait I don't know. But 11 years ago when I had my first. I was never monitored whilst on clomid. I had a scan pre clomid to determine follicles on my ovaries. But I was on here ans other forums at the same time and heard of people having scans on certain days throughout there cycle on clomid and I never had that. But I did conceive within 2 months of being on clomid.
Im just so frustrated I know what medication I need and on what days to take it.
50mg days 2 to 7 of my cycle. I just have to wait in the hands of a docters to say yes I'll grant you your wish .
I'm I'm depressed because of all this. It's It's suffering from pcos and pmdd on top of that I have to wait for someone to tell me when I can conceive.
This is when I envy ppl who do it all naturally.

Don't mean to come across horrible. I wish everyone success . Just sometimes I wish it was that easy for me .

Yeah lots of people don’t get monitored and they’re fine, but ideally they will monitor you in case multiple follicles mature. My sister had it without monitoring in the 90s from her GP I think, and conceived first time.

I get it, we can’t do it naturally either and it’s been two years now, we have no kids. No one had even offered us clomid on the nhs when I likely don’t ovulate (also PCO/S). We were sent away and told there was nothing wrong, hence why I’m getting Letrozole (you should read up on it if you’re not familiar, some private clinics will offer this instead of clomid now) from a private clinic in London. I am now on the ivf waiting list though, so should start that in a few months if the Letrozole doesn’t work.

With your history of having had clomid before, if you approach a local hospital with a private arm they might give you just the prescription (which won’t be a lot, clomid is cheap) and a minimum of a baseline and one follicle scan maybe? Here’s a screenshot from the Kings fertility private arm (in London) price list so you can see the sort of prices, but they’re very dependant on area, number of scans etc and where you go. Do some research on what’s available locally to you.

Omg thankyou so much.

It does seem cheapish would require some savings but happy to save if it will get me seen sooner.
Yes ive previously purchased clomid online without a prescription about 8 year ago paid 30 pounds for 3 months and conceived within 2.

I know I possibly should be happy I have children but my new partner doesn't so we are really wanting to try for one more .
Before I hang up the hat sort of speak.
I will look at letrozole . And see if I can source that from a gyno. But my guess is if I cant get clomid I won't be able to get this without paying privately like you say

Thankyou

@Lora2021 yeah clomid will be the same as Letrozole access wise. But if you can get monitored definitely do. Good luck!

Hello,

Did you manage to source letrozole or clomid online? I'm in the same position as yourself.
