Hi Everyone,

Where do I start! 😩. Apologies in advance for the lengthy post.
I first contacted Reprofit, Brno end 2018 due to the long NHS waiting list which I was on, also I was 40 at the time. Turned out after I went for a private scan, I had an endometrial polyp and the Consultant at Reprofit said it would have to be removed before treatment could begin. That’s where my contact with Reprofit ended.

In the meantime we were offered one funded round of IVF on NHS. My polyp was removed however the treatment was unsuccessful.

I contacted Reprofit 2 weeks ago via their info email and heard nothing so I thought ok, I’ll email Kamila directly as she was my contact in 2018 (website still has her as an employee). Again no response.
Call me paranoid but feels like they are avoiding me lol. Has anyone experienced the same with them recently?
My 2nd option is Gennet in Prague. Can anyone share their experiences with them please?

Thank you 😊

Hey there! I haven't contacted any of the 2 you mentioned, but I would worry that they wouldn't get in contact if I needed them (like if I was having a problem with injections etc and I needed answers straight away) - it was an experience of another poster.

That's why now, I am doing this "check" to every clinic I am contacting in order to check their response times. For me, it's better to do the IVF in a mediterranean country (top choices are Spain, where I live, Greece, my brother in law is from there, and Cyprus.). So, my check: I follow them on Instagram, message them there AND then email them and ask them for a zoom appointment. I note down their response times and the "feel" they give me. This way I have managed to cross off my list more than 10 clinics! I don't know, communication is very important for me.

We used Reprofit and have our amazing little girl. Couldn't fault them. Ask for a different coordinator. We had Tina.

Hi ladies, Thank you for your replies.

@IsabelHerna, you’re right, communication is key and so I think I’ll adopt your idea re contacting other clinics and take notes on their response times etc.

@Scottishgirl85. Reprofit were fantastic the last time, they responded pretty much immediately but this time they’re just not replying. I’d hate to think it’s due to us not be able to proceed the last time…who knows! They are the cheapest clinic with good results so I’m a bit disappointed ☹️

@Auldbird78 I am glad I was able to help. To be honest, I kinda treat clinics like OkCupid matches. "Do we match? how compatible are we? Are you going to be the one that puts a baby in me?" hahaha Grin

@Auldbird78 I've contacted them very recently to discuss moving our remaining embryos to a UK clinic and they've replied each time within few hours, and in this instance I'd be taking my business elsewhere and they've still been fab. So I think your experience is unfortunate and not reflective of their usual service. Definitely ask for another coordinator. Good luck!

@Auldbird78 - I had consultations with both Reprofit & Gennet. Comparing everything we chose Gennet.

I have had 2 treatments with them so far - 1 in April (which was my 3rd overall) that was unsuccessful & nothing to freeze.

2nd in June/July (my 4th overall) - this was successful & I am now 10 wks pregnant.
I would 100% recommend Gennet. My experience with them has been fantastic both times. You always see a consultant for the scan, they try to keep the same one but not always possible. And the same team does egg collection & transfer too. For me, the egg collection & embryo transfer were both better than my experience in the UK.

With regards to response times, they are sometimes late in replying but they prioritize people undergoing treatment over people just coordinating, preparing for treatment. I had cramps & bleeding during my first treatment in 2ww & they responded on the same day. Their main channel of communication is via email; so I have noticed that the coordinators are with patients in the morning & then they reply to emails after 3-4 pm. Sometimes at 9-10 pm too so always better to check around your egg collection & transfer time. I would think if something was urgent, you can call them on a general number & someone will respond.

I sometimes overreacted with everything while waiting for their email during my 1st cycle with them. But they always handled me calmly. During my second cycle, I would be patient & just wait for them to reply. I trusted that they hadn't forgotten me.

Their embryologist is fantastic too. I spoke to her a few times during collection & transfer & was able to get advice I needed.

A slight negative over Uk clinics was that - during scans, the doctor didn't measure every single follicle to tell me sizes & numbers (But I was always scanned by my assigned consultant only. so not sure if every doctor does this way). She would just measure big 1-2 on both sides and make decisions. I wasn't ok with that for the 1st cycle but actually, it reduced a lot of stress & saved me numerous googling hours.

If you need more info let me know.

Hi,

Can anyone offer advice around how much cheaper it ends up being abroad? We've been given prices for ivf with my eggs abroad (around £2700 qith Gennet in Czech) and looking at a clinic in the UK it states it would be £3300. I understand this does not include medication and there will probably be extras along the way. I'm just trying to understand the pros of having it abroad as with flights/accommodation and the sheer inconvenience/annual leave of it being abroad it seems with these prices there's not much in it?
Are there a lot more hidden costs in the UK?

From what I see DE seems to be a lot cheaper abroad but it's the standard ivf price that's confusing me.

Sorry about the amount of questions, I'm new to this and just a little overwhelmed by the amount of organisation and hassle abroad will be if it will only save a few hundred quid. Equally I'm aware if we try with my own eggs, there's a high chance I will have to resort to DE given my AMH (0.4 pmol) so it's a lot of cash to part with. It's a hard decision!

TIA

Hi @Pippin34 realise this is a very old thread but was wondering if you found the answers to these questions/went ahead? I’m also confused by costs! x

I was in a similar situation once, and it turned out that my clinic’s spam filters had blocked my message, so they never received it. While I don’t have personal experience with Czech clinics, the daughter of my accountant had a successful second IVF attempt with donor eggs at a clinic in the Czech Republic. She was very happy with their detailed and patient-centered approach.
If you're considering Gennet in Prague, you can check your chances through their profile on the Fertility Clinics Abroad website. Good luck
