Can anyone help? We are hoping to have a transfer in October but blood tests have come back saying TSH level is 0.36. Prolactin levels were fine.

I'm not a medical professional but looking on the web, I can see that the normal range starts at 0.3 or 0.4, depending on which website I'm looking at Grin

I'm not going to be able to speak to a doctor until Monday. Can someone with experience please advise me if clinics tend to consider lower end of the normal range beginning at 0.3 or 0.4.

It's a bit devastating to think we could be ruled out or delayed due to this as it's all been such an emotional rollercoaster.

Please help, I can't stand the suspense and would like to really like to know now if I'm outside the normal range as far as most fertility clinics are concerned so I can adjust my expectations. I realise no one can know exactly what my doctor will say. Thank you Flowers

Hi @Queryquestion

So I'm a doctor, but I can only advise from the thyroid point of view and not about thyroid issues in infertility. Others may well have experience in having thyroid issues while undergoing fertility treatment.

These days thyroid function tests start off by just looking at the TSH. Your TSH is a bit below the normal range. It would be good to know your T3 and T4.

To speed things up you might want to use medichecks. I would go for this test that they offer if I was you. medichecks.com/products/thyroid-function-antibodies-blood-test

That will recheck the TSH, it will give you the levels of the thyroid hormones and tell you if you have autoantibodies.

If I were in your position I would just get on and order those tests because otherwise you may have delays while you wait for an appointment only to be told that you likely need more tests.

Firstly, try not to panic. You've identified the potential issue and now you've got some time to try to get things sorted. A TSH level of 0.36 is on the low side, but you really need your thyroid hormone levels (T3,T4) to be able to interpret that result. I'd suggest calling your doctor on Monday and asking them to make a start on any investigations they feel are appropriate in the context of an upcoming transfer.
