Hi everyone!

I have been diagnose with bilateral hydrosalpinx 4 years ago. At the time one of my tube was clipped and the other was reopened.
6 months later i tried ivf and was not successful.
Consultant said the remaining tube was blocked again

This year I start the ivf journey again and and did 1 fresh transfer and one frozen transfer. Both ended negative.
They advise me to remove my tube but I am scared of ivf not working and will be left with no hope.

Who when trough laparoscopic and had both of her tubes being removed and when trough Ivf with successfull BFP.

Thank you

Hey my @Mymiraclebb I have had both tubes removed, one when I was 16 and one last year when I was 28. These were laparotomies not laparoscopies so have made IVF a bit more difficult due to the extensive adhesions (I have also had 5 other surgeries besides this).

Sometimes I wondered if it was necessary to remove my second tube. The advice wss to remove the 2nd one so that the toxic fluid wouldn't leak in during IVF. I am currently going through my first cycle. I had my baseline scan last Monday and the fluid build-up was so bad that the nurse said if I did have tubes there was no way they would start IVF as it would be too dangerous but it was fine to start since I didn't. So I know now that removing the second one was the right choice! I have a scan tomorrow morning (currently day 8 of stims) and hopefully EC on Thursday. Unfortunately they are set on me having freeze all and doing embryo transfer next month. But let you know how it turns out ❤

Sending you love and support

Thank you @Vparisi for your feedback.
They told me the same thing and I don’t really know if previous falls circle was due to the hydrosalpinx or just be unlucky.
Has I am not getting younger 33 now I feel like I need to move on and do the the surgery. In the other hand I am not to sure.

They told me Laparoscopy and more likely to remove or disconnect the tube. Not to sure about differences.

Yes the main issue was the liquid buildup inside tube. They never told me about any adhesion after the surgery. Instead they told me it will give me more chance with ivf.

I am really confused and don’t know if is the right decision.

Please let me know how your scan goes. I can not wait to start another circle after the surgery on Friday.

I lost both my tubes to ruptured ectopics within 18 months of each other and had twins via IVF the following year x

@Mymiraclebb I couldn't read and run. Sending you so much solidarity, I know how hard it is going through this journey. I too was diagnosed with hydrosalpinx tubes and severe endometriosis in 2018. I had my endo removed and was advised to have both tubes removed as they were fully blocked and if anything destroying any hope of successful implantation. I'm hoping this gives you some hope that it CAN happen when tubes are removed and given a greater chance so the toxic fluid isn't upsetting the embryo nor resulting in an ectopic pregnancy. I have my little boy from my second round of ivf who is now 16 months old 💕 I've made a thread which you're more than welcome to join, lots of ladies have maxed out my original thread 🥰 but the new one is

Continued chat of all things IVF, FET & to feel sane...cycle buddies August/September -

Sending you lots of positivity x

@Mymiraclebb
I had both my tubes removed last November due to severe hydrosalpinx, they tried to drain them in 2018 but it came back & I was told I couldn't have IVF until they were gone due to fluid leaking in and damaging the embryo. It was a tough decision but after 6 years of TTC and being 34 it was the right decision. Today I had my first embryo transfer so I know it was the right decision for me.

Congratulations for your transfer @Reefy and good luck for your 2WW. Your stories give me more hope. Thank you
